Mr Super Motivator: The Super Motivator is an informative and helpful motivational book written by Shafiq Sabir, a holistic therapist, and life coach. This book is not meant to replace our spiritual beliefs but to inspire readers to help create self-awareness, self-love, self-respect, self-reliance, and to boost self-confidence when faced with life challenges. This non-fiction book has 70 pages; it has no chapters.
In this self-help book, the author talked about his inspiration for being a motivator, his affirmation, and his achievement through the help he got from being self-motivated and self-reliant. Talking about the things that motivated him, the author elaborated on the struggles of his life: his poor mental and physical health. He acknowledged God as his primary source of encouragement, helping him get through his health issues and challenges. The author is blind.
Shafiq then went ahead to talk about the qualities of a self-motivated person: spirituality, learning and unlearning, and having faith in God. Shafiq believes that having these self-motivational qualities with courage, determination, and self-discipline, anyone is a happy winner. The author equally gave his steps to be a winner. Amongst the steps, he mentioned the following: PPP (Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance), CCC (Choices, Challenges, and Change which help to make life better), Action, Not giving up, Appreciation of life, and Having fun with life. He believes the preceding steps can make people happy winners. This book contains motivational quotes on themes such as love, hope, betrayal, patience, health, and faith. Pictures accompany the quotes.
I did not particularly appreciate that some of the quotes didn't relate to what he was talking about. For example, when he spoke about being a strong survivor, he used a William James quote: "The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook." It did not correlate with what he was talking about. There were many grammatical and typographical errors in this book; it wasn't well-edited. This is due to the author's blindness. The publisher could have done better with the editing and proofreading.
However, I liked that the author was able to make something of himself with the methods he mentioned earlier in the book; getting inspiration from the quotes he used. Considering the fact that the author is blind, he has helped himself psychologically and physically by writing this motivational book to help people physically challenged like he is.
I recommend this book to readers who like motivational self-help books and inspirational quotes. I rate Mr Super Motivator: The Super Motivator 2 out of 4 stars. I'd have wanted to rate it higher, but considering the errors I earlier stated, I settle for this rating.
