"Following Jesus in the Age of Trump" by Dr. Mary Theresa Webb is a religious book primarily targeted at the American Christian. It addresses the importance of doctrinal worship, as well as the dangers of overlooking historical and biblical principles concerning worship. The main thrust of the content is to encourage the American Christian to assess their stance on the modern political situation and their response to presidency of Donald Trump; be it indifference, support or disapproval. The author's own stance is unsympathetic towards Donald Trump.

The book is written in a conversational tone which makes it a fairly easy-going read, unlike most reference books. The urge to reach for the Bible every other sentence is nonexistent. There are some illustrations and it is written to be acceptable across denominations. The style of mirroring historical biblical events and the present makes it an interesting read and the detail in descriptions gives an insightful view into those events.

The retelling of the parables and bible stories in colloquial language makes it a beneficial read for any Christian, American or otherwise and makes it most suited for young adult and adult reader. The book also is exceptionally edited and the chapters are long enough to hold attention but not so much that they become exhaustive.

The author, however expresses their own stance in a manner that is so unapologetic that for those who do not share the same opinion, it may border on being offensive. She does not mix words in showing her disfavor towards the Trump presidency. At the same time, it is stressed that the reader is not pressed to share the same opinion.

I would rate the book a 4 out of 4.In spite of the fact that I am not an American Christian, the benefit of reading the book is evident. There is information conveyed that goes past the target audience that will make this book a recommendable read for any Christian.

This looks like an intriguing book. And it appears that the author and I are of the same mind when it comes to Trump. Thanks for a very helpful review.
