Every day you will find people looking for a job. It does not matter if you are a fresher or a person looking for a job switch; finding a job is indeed a very tough job. You need guidance during this tough time of your life. This is when Finding a job in Tough Times comes into the picture. It is a guide cum workbook that would help you in your job search.

Dr. Timothy M Johnson, the author of this book himself went through a lot of hardships and struggles before finding a suitable job for himself. He has experience working at restaurants, sales, bill collection, auto financing industries, and teaching. He joined New York Telephone as an employee and went on to become an interviewer for technical jobs. It is all his experiences during the job search and while doing jobs, that have helped him write this book.

The sole purpose of this book is to make searching job easy. The author has explained finding a job in a very simple and step by step manner. Knowing yourself to know what exactly you want has been very well explained in the book. In six steps to a paycheck, the author has explained everything related to a job like skills, abilities, writing a resume, appearing for an interview, etc. Although I am not searching for a job but still I found this book very informative. It not only helps you in job search but also makes you think deeper about your life and career. I liked the exercises given in the book. They are indeed helpful and engaging. By following these exercises sincerely, one is bound to find many answers.

The author’s writing style is very simple and effective. I liked the way he explained different concepts in the book. I would definitely follow his steps while searching for a job in the future. There were some minor errors in the book that I came across while reading but I choose to ignore them while rating the book since good points are more.

I would rate this book four out of four stars because it is indeed a very helpful book for job seekers. I would recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a job or wants another job better than their current job. This book is a perfect guide for job seekers. It is a must-read if you are searching for a job.
