Every prolific speaker or author has unique attributes that distinguish them from others. To be an excellent speaker or writer, one need not have a chunk of vocabulary or expressions to impress the audience. An idiomatic expression simplifies the expression and breathes meaning into it. In his book Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition), Peter N. Liptak has delved into the uses of idiomatic expressions. He defines an idiom as " a phrase in which two or more words come together to create a unique meaning different from the meaning of each of the individual words." This novel contains hundreds of idiomatic expressions used in everyday life. For example, to sleep soundly is expressed in idioms as "to sleep like a dog." Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition) is a non-fiction book published in 2011.
I am very impressed with the overall presentation of the book. The language used is simple. I cannot write many comments about the French version, but the English version is well-edited and free from spelling or grammatical errors. The black and white illustrations are fascinating and enable the readers to have a better understanding of the contents of the novel. The font sizes are visible enough. Readers will not strain their eyes during the reading process. The title of the novel is suitable for its contents. The cover design is eye-catching and influences readers to read.
This novel provides a practical means of teaching idioms. The author has included some stories that contain idiomatic expressions. Readers are expected to read and answer sample questions. The author also requires them to fill in some blanks spaces with idiomatic expressions. I know everyone will have something to appreciate about this novel. Intermediate and advanced students of English will find this novel a useful manual.
However, it was difficult for me to understand the French version since it is not my native language. I recommend the author separates the English version from the French to facilitate easy reading. This will also make the novel less voluminous. Also, most book reviewers are fluent in only one language. Separating the two versions will ease the difficulty of writing a review about this novel.
The author has demonstrated that he is an expert in the English language. I see that lots of research have gone into the writing of this book. The author has proved his mastery of the English language. This novel is well-written because there are no spelling or grammatical errors.
Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition) by Peter Liptak deserves a distinction. Peter has successfully provided all the information needed to make this novel outstanding. Readers who often use idioms will shout words of praise to the author. I expect to read more books from this author. I, therefore, rate Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition) by Peter N. Liptak 4 out of 4 stars.
