Nadeem’s Journey: A Heart Wrenching Story of a Loving Mother Losing Her Son to Cancer was authored by Sherine Anniruth. The book was published in 2019 by Mouse House Publishing. It is 158 pages long and contains 12 chapters. It is in the genre of nonfiction. This is a factual story of a mother who lost her son to cancer. It is an account of a son who lived in such a way that he inspired those he met and worked with.

Nadeem Rajah was an extraordinary child. He excelled in his studies. He also played cricket so well that he was made the captain of his school cricket team in year three. The author had every reason to be proud of her son. Nadeem was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. This was the beginning of another episode in his life. This new episode was marked by frequent visits to the hospital. There were prolonged waits before seeing the doctor and securing a bed in the ward as well. Sherine had to support her son as he battled against the terrible disease. This is Nadeem's story and her story as well.

This is not just an account of a mother losing her beloved son to cancer but also of relentless love. This is the celebration of a hero who fought bravely and persisted in being strong even during the lowest moments. It vividly describes how Nadeem’s family, friends, and colleagues enthusiastically supported him. However, the reader will also be exposed to real cases of negligence and its detrimental effects. You will be left wondering what would have happened if things had been handled differently and more carefully.

There is nothing I did not like about this book. The greatest lesson is to never take anything for granted in life. We will never know what the succeeding moment holds. Every available opportunity is a time to celebrate life together with those we love. It is an excellent opportunity to intentionally touch the lives of those we meet as we travel on this journey called life. Nadeem Rajah comprehended this very well. He was a brilliant son, brother, and colleague. There is a lot to be learned from him like the value of hard work. Health workers will recognize the importance of managing their clients as individuals from this book. Caregivers, especially those attending to the needs of cancer patients, will also realize the significance of the roles they play and how to play them well.

The book was professionally edited. The author undoubtedly wrote the story well. I sincerely loved reading Nadeem’s incredible story from the time he was born. The photographs that were included in the book were remarkable. The language employed was straightforward. Therefore, I soundly rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to fans of nonfiction books. It will appeal most to those who may have lost loved ones to cancer. They may not be physically present but they will always live on in our hearts.

Sadly, the good die young seems to be a true saying. I'm glad the author is able to tell her son's story. He sounds like he was a great young man. Thanks for the review.

This is beautiful. Unfortunately, Nadeem was taken from this world too soon. However, his mother is helping his memory live on. I commend her for taking the time to write this book. Thank you for your review!

This story was truly heartbreaking because I also lost my mom at a young age to cancer. I loved the way his mother stuck to him, he'll truly be missed but his memory will surely live on.

What a lovely way for people who loved Nadeem to celebrate his journey. And I hope this book helps prevent, even in the slightest, future medical negligence cases.
Thank you.

I think it is the worst thing a mother has to live through, losing a child. What a courage this mother must have to tell her son's story. It is important to hear the message to never take anything for granted. Celebrate life. I appreciate photos being included in the book, this brings it to life.

Thank you, Kibet Hillary, for that concise and descriptive review. In it, you hinted that the various health workers related to this case perhaps were not as dedicated to him, individually, as they should be. I feel that this is his mother’s way of remembering him, and showing the world his goodness.
