Official Review: The Impeccable Host by Mark Perl.

[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Impeccable Host" by Mark Perl.]

This book is all about throwing corporate events. It focuses heavily on hospitality and giving the guests an experience that will lead to greater profits. It's a sort of guidebook for anyone in a leadership role to lend a helping hand in one of the toughest areas of a business, customer/investor relations.

A wide variety of subjects are covered from planning an event down to the small things that a lot of people don't think of, such as starting a conversation or a simple handshake. It encourages the reader to ask themselves the simple questions that can lead to greater results. When you go through the checklist and find out what you do right its much easier to learn what you did wrong.

The book got off to a very slow start. The first forty pages or so seemed like it was just about the author and the subjects the book would be covering. I think it could have been wrapped up much quicker, it was almost like a chore reading through the first bit waiting for the real book to start.

Once I got into the book i found it to be a good read. Each subject is very detailed and comprehensive leaving me with valuable insight. The book is filled with tips to help in nearly every aspect of hosting an event and I feel as though it can be of great help to many people in a leadership role.

I'm rating The Impeccable Host 3 out of 4 stars. I think it is a great asset to many corporations as well as small business owners due to the wealth of knowledge enclosed, however I only gave it a 3 because I found the first part to be long winded and at times a little hard to focus on. Once I got past the beginning I found myself glued to the book in an attempt to soak up as much of the great strategies as possible.

Thanks for your positive review.

I'm very conscious of your comments regarding the introductory pages. I was advised to build a relationship with readers by explaining what qualifies me as the specialist on this subject matter and why my advice can be trusted. I will now review this section and perhaps edit it down for the next print run. Useful insight. Nice one :) Overall, I'm glad you found the insights and strategies to be valuable.

Regards
