The Technology Takers: Leading Change in the Digital Era is a non-fiction book that provides a business strategy that is necessary for this digital era. The book endorses a “Change Management Playbook,” which contains business tactics to take advantage of the opportunities offered by today’s constantly changing technology. Based on their experiences and expertise, Jens P. Flanding, Genevieve M. Grabman, and Sheila Q. Cox show us what it takes to become “technology takers.”

The book talks about how digital-era technologies are ever-changing, in which such technologies cause disruptions to traditional business models. Because of this, businesses are required to adapt to this landscape by adopting ever-changing digital-era technologies. Technology takers are those who decide to use such technologies developed by innovators and big businesses. By adopting a technology-taking strategy, technology takers can compete in today’s global market by creating value through cost-reduction, automation, and behavior change. The book acts as a playbook to show how to make technology-taking a possibility, establish governance structures, advocate for change, invest in digital-era skills, and measure managers’ embrace of technology change.

Interestingly, the book provides a realistic approach to adapting to today’s global market. Most of the books I read are too ambitious in their goals as they try to talk about surviving the digital era by aiming to be like Google or Amazon. The technology-taking strategy is a good strategy for businesses that aim to survive with minimal investment. The book contains numerous sources to show that such a strategy is a good option. All of these show that a lot of research is poured into this book.

Additionally, I like how the playbook warns the reader of the difficulty of implementing the strategy by admitting its success rate. This shows that the strategy is not merely a business buzzword and should be taken seriously. These challenges are properly tackled in the playbook, wherein real-life cases are provided to demonstrate how the playbook should work. While the playbook tends to be repetitive, the tactics included in the playbook are helpful and clear.

Other than a few grammatical errors, there is not much I can say anything bad about the book. Overall, The Technology Takers: Leading Change in the Digital Era is a well-researched book that is both informative and helpful. While there are some topics that I wanted to be discussed in the book, I think that the book is already brilliant in itself. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. While I can recommend this book to anyone, this book is most helpful to business owners who are trying to adapt to today’s fast-paced technological era.

It sounds like a down-to-earth strategy to embrace technology. There is no place for traditional strategies in the world we currently live in. Everyone is working hard to be tech-savvy, and I believe this is one key to success today. Thank you for an insightful review. This is a book I would love to read.

The book sounds like its gonna be a successful book and I love how mention the big business are using the technology era. Hackers can get into there stuff and ruin all the important things or put their personal information out to the world and you would never know until it happens
