Eggstravagant Easter Eggs by Maya Elston is a hand book that gives the reader detailed insights to the know-how of Easter egg making. Everything you need to know about Easter eggs, and how they can be made, are exhaustively written in this book.

The first thing that caught my attention in this writeup, was the simple writing style of the author. Every chapter was completely independent of the other, and every technique, with regard to the making of Easter eggs were expounded satisfactorily. I loved the way the author included very colourful illustrations in her work. The images of the respective finished patterns were amazing. The writeup was not character driven, thus I will lay my emphasis on the observations made about the respective Easter egg designs. For each design, the author successfully created awareness on their origins, made an exhaustive list of materials required for each design, and gave step-by-step instructions on how you could make them. At the end of each set of instructions, she presented illustrations of how the products ought to look like.

The designs in themselves were amazing. However, I fell in love with the flowered eggs, and the imperial Easter eggs. These were simply amazing to look at. There were also Easter eggs shaped as cockerels, and fishes. I must confess that I was astounded by the creativity of the author. The morals the writeup left the reader with was very obvious. Topmost amongst them was the power of creativity.

The writeup was also done in an honest, and blunt manner. This was seen in the author's honest views about the procedures that were described, as well the pros and cons of each design, and technique. In all, it gave the book an outstanding rating. The book also helped me appreciate more deeply, the power of pictures in enriching the understanding of any subject. In my opinion, this augmentation is feasible in all fields.

I am pleased to note that the book was professionally edited, and I noted no errors. What I loved most about the book were the colourful illustrations, and the simple pattern with which the techniques were presented. It made learning the art, very simple, and easy to follow. I disliked nothing about this book.

I am rating the book 4 out of 4 stars. The illustrations, and the detailed, yet easy-to-follow rules, made the book a pleasant read any day.

I am recommending the book to all those who have a flair for making Easter eggs. The do-it-yourself instructions in the book will make a great read anytime, any day.
