The Ultimate Guide for the Avid Indoorsman by John Driver begins with a 20-question test called the Indooreagramis that determines how far along you are to becoming an indoors man; a hilarious start to an enjoyable read that takes you on a journey highlighting the strengths of a person who chooses to stay indoors and the ways in which you too could become an avid indoors man. With each chapter starting with a famous quote altered to make it in the favor of an indoors man, it is a quick read, guaranteed to make you laugh and marvel at the humor in a redundant lifestyle. I would rate this book 4 out 4 stars as it delivers on its goal to be an entertaining read and is very well put together and edited for an easy read.

The lighthearted narrative is sure to make this a favorite for every age. It reads like a friend having a laugh with the reader, pointing out the things that make staying indoors and choosing not to go outside favorable and enjoyable. It goes on to give lighthearted information on ways that the reader can adopt this lifestyle and the things that they can find joy in whilst staying at home.

This book had an unfair advantage with me reading it during the time of quarantine, where we are all forced to stay indoors. It helped make light of a rather tough situation, which is quite a feat already.

This book has been very well proofed and edited which is sure to make your reading experience that much smoother and enjoyable. The narrative is a little biased to appeal mostly to men stuck at home which could have been improved with a more gender-neutral take on the subject. Other than that, the language used makes it family-friendly and there are no political views or subjectivity that could make this an unpleasant read for any specific reader.

This is a perfect book to gift to your introverted friends. It’ll be the go-to book to grab on your journeys when you need a relaxing read that will make you chuckle or just something to pass the time on a long, boring day. I would recommend anyone who is currently under quarantine or self-isolation due to COVID-19 to read this book for a hilarious take on staying indoors and the ways that it can be of benefit to you and your family.
