Review by Bookgal24 -- Last Words from Above
Last words from above was written by Jeremy Brown. It is a Christian non fiction and ninety pages long and i give it 4 out of four stars. As a Christian I absolutely loved this book and feel blessed to have read it. There is something in here for everyone. This book is written by a Christian for Christians, it gives wonderful advice and quotes to help each person on their walk with Jesus Christ and many quotes are just good reminders most of us know and just need to hear once in a while.
First, Jeremy talks about how we each must seek the Lord " And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart Jeremiah 29:11" and he will transform us and give us wisdom "Therefore if any man be in christ he is a new creature: old things and passed away; behold, all things are become new 2nd Corinthians 5:22".
Second, when we become saved choosing to repent and follow the Lord Jesus Christ the holy spirit begins to work in us. And we begin to shine His light, "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven Matthew 5:6" for some this happens right away and for others it might take some time. As well as shine light we also are to show God's love and Jesus is the perfect example of love in motion and we are to always follow his example. Everything from tending to a small child, to assisting the elderly, volunteering your time to others or even just taking time to listen to a friends problems is showing God's love.
Third, there are three very important milestones in a Christian's life: when they are born, " For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end Jeremiah 29:11"when you choose to surrender to Jesus Christ you are born again, " Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again John 3:7" and when we die to go home to the Lord We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord 2nd Corinthians 5:8" . And lastly the author talks about faith, which he has a lot of, which is something we all need in this life " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1". Everything leads to God, even science points to our creator Brown points out. Even when things don't make sense and everything is falling down around us, especially now with the coronavirous going on, we NEED to have faith and that trust and faith in the Lord will be rewarded. Just as Noah , Daniel, David, Esther, Deborah, Joseph ( coat of many colors) Hannah, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego , Peter, Luke, Matthew, John , Mark, Mary ( follower), Paul, Mary ( Jesus's early mother), Joseph and even Jesus had faith in his heavenly Father.
Lastly I would say that I loved this book and plan on recommending it to all my family members and friends and church. This book put a huge smile on my face the more that I read it the happier it made me. And as I read I felt the Lord's presce. Praise Him! This book spreads love, joy, hope, and peace to all who will take the time to read it. And I don't think anyone could ask for more than that.
