Having never been on a motorbike or considered one, I was not sure quite what to expect , but overall a good read. The tone of the book is written in the narrative, almost as if one is taking the journey with the author and her husband. It begins with the traffic rules of Minnesota as well as some basic riding tips and weather, gear, road advice and even checking to make sure the tail light is working. While I such comments are a nice caring aspect from the authors perspective, not necessary.

However tips such as northern Minnesota having little to no gas stations, can most definitely be appreciated for someone who does not have a familiarity with the area or may be from a city where an overabundance of gas stations is the normal.

The amount of miles between each area is duly noted another positive aspect. Typical traffic patterns on such routes are also stated, but as mentioned in the early part of the book , the author realizes that varies. Certain areas mention food and lodging options and even whether the locale is friendly towards bikers and the noise associated. The author even gives her favorite food recommendations at said food areas. Additionally, scenic pictures are throughout the books and are definitely appreciated.

The book goes into specifics also such as where to be cautious and slow areas such as those with curves. It point out geographic sites such as lakes and beaches near popular exits, another great aspect.

All in all, I did like the book. Not being a biker myself, it may be more useful to those who ride but I definitely recommend it for the motorcycle rider who may be taking a trip into the area or possibly even to those who are planning a road trip. The book is written in a very easy to read format and while it may fall into the category of travel guide, it almost feels as if you are speaking to an old friend who recently took the journey and is offering wholehearted recommendations for you to enjoy.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.

Thank you for the lovely review! And for the proof that you don't have to be a biker to enjoy it.
