Sometimes we experience confusion and feel worthless. When we make mistakes, we tend to justify them by either blaming them on others or claiming that we did what we had to do, as if we didn’t have options. This is how the enemy works. He brings confusion to our lives. Defeating The Enemy When It’s In Me by EJ Beckman is a religious book about how to detect the presence of the enemy in our lives, and how to defeat it.

This book has 30 pages and is divided into two chapters. The first chapter, The Characteristics of the Enemy Inside of Me, talks about how to detect the presence of the enemy inside your life, and the steps to take when dealing with it. The second chapter, How Do I Die Then Live... Always Pray and Never Faint, contains several prayers, backed up with multiple scriptures. The book is written in the second person’s point of view, with an instructor-student tone. This means that, throughout the reading, the author instructs you on what to do.

While other religious books concentrate on preaching God’s love for humans, the author felt that there was a gap that these books didn’t fill. There’s a need to self reflect. A need to examine all that is happening in your life. This book helps you find answers to the questions you have about your life. By reading through this book, you’ll find not only the questions but also their answers.

I liked several things about this book. To begin with, I didn’t find any grammatical errors throughout my reading. This means it was exceptionally edited. There are some parts, such as the first few pages of the book, where the writings took the format of a poem. As a fan of poetry, I found this very interesting and enjoyable. Alternating writing formats may attract many audiences. Each presentation by the author has a backing scriptural reference. This validates his arguments and makes his statements convincing. I also liked that the author provided an address where the readers can send prayer requests. This will help several readers to be spiritually lifted.

In conclusion, this was a well-written book. It contains several ideas that, when put into practice, can improve the lives of Christians. Since there isn’t anything that I disliked, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to anyone who has questions about his/her life and would like to get the answers to these questions. While this book is majorly about self-reflection, it only provides spiritual solutions. Because it uses the Bible as the reference material, it is best suited for Christians. People who expect practical solutions to their problems, as opposed to spiritual solutions, may be disappointed.

I could really relate to your opening passage. It's always such a sinking feeling when I realise I try to justify bad behaviour and thoughts. I agree with the above comment, this is a topic we need to talk about more. I think I'll give this book a try. Thank you for a great review!

This book seems to be pretty inspirational for Christians, with a lot of spirituality. However, I'm not religious so I don't know if I'm interested in this kind of book. Thanks for the great review!

I’m not sure if this book should be seen only as a religious book. It’s contents promote self-caution and 100% sincerity. This book is the roadmap to a better world. Awesome review.

A book about self-reflection that only provides spiritual solutions sounds appealing. I like that the book will help the reader to find answers to questions about their life. That was an incredible review. Good job.

I really love the concept and could not agree with it more - about the enemy within! It almost always is... I do not like the religious connotations though :/
Your review is certainly very informative and beautifully written :) Thank you!

A "religious book about how to detect the presence of the enemy in our lives, and how to defeat it." Is definitely a nice read. Thanks for your nice review.

Nice write up. The author tells us about self-reflection, and it's the relevance. The book is a smooth read and Christians will find it interesting.
