The important role a woman plays in our world will never be overemphasized. A woman is a daughter, sister, wife, and mother to someone at different phases in her life. This is excluding the essential role of a reliable support system and, dare I say, a vital part in nation-building. To that end, women deserve to be loved, cherished, and respected.

However, the reverse scenario has become the mainstay in the treatment of women in our society today. They've been and are still victims of abuse, rape, molestation, and sexual harassment. According to the World Health Organization, about 1 in 3 (that's 35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. Though efforts are in top gear to reduce this statistic to the barest minimum, the women who have been victims of abuse are looking for ways to get their lives back. Lisa Erickson wrote Chakra Empowerment For Women to help women who need healing from these issues and any other related matter.

Chakra Empowerment For Women is a practical self-help book that provides a step-by-step approach to all-round healing. As the title implies, this book is for women. However, it will be specifically helpful to women going through issues that negatively affect their bodies, souls, and spirits. I highly recommend this book because the author is an experienced professional in helping women heal. This book is a compendium of her years of experience as a chakra-based worker and teacher. She specializes in women's energetics and sexual trauma healing — a career that spans over fifteen years. Rest assured that you are getting practical help from one of the best in the business.

What I liked most about this book was the practical approach the author employed. The reader wouldn't find the steps outlined here difficult to follow. She made it as simple and straightforward as possible. She avoided using too many jargons. Hence, readers who might not be familiar with the concept of chakra would quickly get the hang of it. She didn't hesitate to offer explanations where they were needed. The examples she used in explaining the steps in this book were practical and relatable. If I were a woman, I would have practiced some of the things I saw in this book. I'd definitely share this book with the women in my life who need to practice the different chakras.

Another unique thing about this book was that it offered all-round empowerment. Beyond providing steps to follow to get the best results, the author took the time to shatter some myths that most women have allowed to limit them. She called them "Myths of Power." She dealt with six of these myths. Her exactness was amiable. Contrary to what I've seen, she was empathetic in addressing these issues. This was very thoughtful of her.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. Any woman who needs healing and empowerment would find this book helpful. Overall, I rate Chakra Empowerment For Women 4 out of 4 stars.

I would perhaps question the assumption in your opening paragraph that a woman is important chiefly because of her relationships with others-- as daughter, sister, wife, mother. A woman would be just as valuable, as a human person, were she never to be a wife or a mother.

This was a very helpful review, thank you! As someone newly interested in chakras and still knows very little about them, I was particularly pleased to read that the author puts things simply and avoids too much jargon. Thank you for such a well-rounded review :)

I love the empowerment flowing through this book and how the author is able to present the science and guidance in an easy-to-understand and well-structured way. It sounds like the author is an authority on the subject, and I enjoy the layout of the book cover. As you mentioned in your review, women are often victims of so much hate and evil, so I’m pleased to see people offering a way to healing. Thanks for a great review! While for women, I could definitely see this being an important book for men to read as well, so as to better ally with and support the women in their life.

As a reiki practitioner, I have seen how these traumas can definitely clog up the internal spiritual system, which leads to complete systemic issues. Prior to your review, I had never heard of this book. You did a wonderful job reviewing this book. I am going to add it to my shelf immediately. Thank you.

Books on the life of women are amazing. Making a woman the superhero is not something you see every day so kudos to the author.
