Official Review: Never Give Up by Tom Shindruk
Never Give Up by Tom Shindruk is a non-fiction motivational guide that leads the reader to a successful life. The writer gives several tips he has gathered throughout his life about success and prosperity. The writer uses a conversational and simple tone to create a casual mood in the text, thereby catching the reader’s attention.
The writer begins by analyzing the importance of taking risks and being brave. He shares his grandparents’ story, who immigrated from Ukraine to Canada in search of a better life. Additionally, he explains that bravery is necessary to overcome all kinds of problems and adversity. He also shares the names of people who shaped him into a better person, helping him to become somebody special. He adds that lifelong learning is crucial in order to gain success. To illustrate his point, he discusses his positive attitude toward learning, writing about the various jobs he had during his lifetime. Next, the author explores the significance of building relationships and never destroying them, as he explains that kindness, politeness, positivity, and smiling are all part of a successful person.
I appreciated numerous aspects of this guide. More specifically, I liked the fact that the writer structured his book logically and rationally, thus creating a coherent flow in the guide. Moreover, through exploring his experiences, the writer created a personal atmosphere in the text, thereby engaging the reader. Furthermore, the writer summarized his points at the end of each chapter, which allowed the reader to easily comprehend his opinions. What I liked most about this book was that it contained Biblical verses and uplifting quotes, which encouraged and motivated the reader, allowing him/her to think in a positive way.
What I disliked most about this guide was that it was poorly edited. This is because it had many typographical, grammatical, and spelling mistakes, meaning that another round of editing is essential for this book.
This book is suited best for readers who enjoy reading motivational books and learning about success secrets. Older readers will appreciate this book more because they will relate more to the old author’s point of view. Christian readers will prefer this book due to the Biblical verses in the text.
To conclude, I rate this book with 3 out of 4 stars. I removed a star from the rating because of the book’s poor editing. Nevertheless, a lower rating would have been very strict, as this is a structured, engaging, and motivating book.
