As the summary for this book, it can be said that the details that went into Bruce's journey was in depth. It started out with cancer and it led to a story filled with the people in Bruce's life, her husband, the author. The book included a lot of Thanksgiving dinners, pot lucks, and get-together gatherings. We learn a lot about Bruce in his gatherings and when his battle begins to become more difficult, he excuses himself from the dinner table. Occurrences of him having a difficult time to eat food plus detailed documentation of dates, doctor visits, and his journey towards death are included in the book.

There was a celebration for a win over cancer and only a short amount of time later, cancer was involved in an important person of the author's life. Cancer affected Bruce and it eventually leads to his death. In the end, he passed away and Richard Abraham was written about by the author to say that his compassion, knowledge, honesty, and "forthrightness" helped her and Bruce in making decisions regarding the goals that he wanted to achieve.

The title of this book Dying Well, written by Susan Ducharme Hoben. I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars because of the extremely good editing. I did not give it any other rating because the author helped list the dates as time went by. She wrote at the beginning of each chapter, a month and included in many chapters were dialogue. The element that I like most of this book were the short chapters. I found that in the beginning of the book, it was easy to read, but it made it difficult to get at first, why there was a month and day at the beginning of each chapter.

As the author began to write about her experience with searching up information on Bruce's cancer, she had to support him through his visits to the doctor. Time continued by, their friends received messages, and the book started to become more clear starting after the first two emails. The book was exceptionally flawless.

The types of people, readers or audiences for this book are adults. I think that the older population and people who like to learn visually are the types of people that the book would most appeal. I would recommend people who are interested in the title of the book and I would say that the image of the book matches the title and is the right fit for the title.
