Official Review: Huge Relief Fast by Oliver Dodd

Post by sblake »

[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Huge Relief Fast" by Oliver Dodd.]

Huge Relief Fast by Oliver Dodd is a self-help book targeted toward people wanting a quick fix to stress related issues.

The book Huge Relief Fast claims to provide tips to get rid of stress immediately. I felt the book fell far short of this goal and mainly seemed to be an overview of common sense health tips such as improving diet and increasing exercise.

The Introduction section of the book consisted of six pages of what the book did not include. The author stated that he purposely chose not to provide scientific evidence to back up his claims and that he is avoiding making any association with a specific spiritual belief system. I felt this section was really unnecessary as the content of the book was nothing ground breaking or medically related. I can appreciate the author’s attempt to maintain a neutral stance in regards to spiritual beliefs, but perhaps it did not need to have an entire section devoted to this.

The first chapter had a series of four guided meditation sequences that were genuinely helpful. There was nothing I have not seen before, but it would definitely be a great starting point for someone just starting out with meditation. Primarily the technique of focusing your eyes in the distance, but concentrating on what is visible in your peripheral vision, is one I have found most effective for meditation. I agree with the author that these techniques will absolutely help to relieve stress fast if used consistently and correctly.

The next several sections were suggestions on diet, exercise, and time management. I did not find anything in these sections that seemed to be more than a common sense approach. The author discusses Emotion Intelligence in the middle section of the book. This includes some good information that can help people to change the way they think about their emotions and their responses. He touches on the subject of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT is a therapy used to train the brain using finger tapping), but he does not explain what it is or how to use it.

The author includes a long term strategy chapter that briefly covers the Chakras and does a good job of explaining the basic concepts and their impact on stress. The book ends with a section on tips and tricks the author has compiled.

Overall, I would give the book Huge Relief Fast 2 out of 4 stars. I just don’t feel the book lives up to the author’s claim to provide immediate stress relief. It is a basic overview of good lifestyle strategies but it is definitely not a quick fix plan.

Thankyou so much for your honest review, I really appreciate and am truly grateful that you have taken the time to do so.

I do apologize if there was a bit of misinformation here, that wasn't my intention, as I thought that these techniques would help reduce stress quickly and I will carefully re-write this ebook appropriately to be more thorough, especially about EFT. and include more science and medical accounts.

Thankyou again

Hi!

I think you are on the right track and the intention is definitely evident in your writing. I don't think you need more science and medical accounts though...I was just suggesting that you cut down on the section where you explained that you did not include them. I totally agree with you that they are not really necessary for a person who is currently stressed!

Another suggestion would be to take the long-term information and make an action takeaway for the reader to implement immediately. For example in the diet section, they could cut out sugar or caffeine the next day. That would be a small step, but could make a quick change in stress levels and gives a sense of accomplishment toward a goal.

I think you have something that could help a lot of people and I wish you luck.
