Last Words from Above by Jeremy Brown is a non-fiction book of Christian quotes. The information provided in the book centers on the author’s meditation and daily routine. Mr. Brown expresses how he spends his mornings in a form of meditation by sitting in a quiet location, listening for words of wisdom from heaven. Once he does this, he noted them down in his journal, in hopes to inspire people.

The book introduces a prologue that includes Mr. Brown’s reasoning for writing a book. The prologue also provides a backstory that explains his reasons for sharing this book with the public. I thought it was really effective to include an introduction of himself at the start of the book because it provides useful insight for the reader about the book's inspiration and whereabouts.

The format of the book was very peculiar, there were no separate chapters but rather pages of over two thousand quotes. Some of the quotes are listed together based on the topic and are unique. The significance of each quote is dependent on the individual. I am sure that some readers would be able to pick out some quotes that are meaningful to them.

What I liked most about the book was the author’s decision to number the quotations, this feature allows readers to efficiently note down the number of the quotation and return to it later. I think it was exceptionally flawless as there were no aspects of the book that I could say I disliked most. I think it was a pleasant experience to ponder on each quotation and challenge them at times.

I found the author’s description of his out-of-body experience was quite interesting as well as the different hurdles that he encountered on his journey. I definitely recommend that readers read the prologue and introduction for insight into this.

Overall, my experience reading Jeremy Brown’s Last Words from Above was rather pleasant because of how well-edited it is. I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because of how widely relatable it is to a variety of readers in a personal way. The reason why I rated it four stars and not three is because of the vast amount of material that could appeal to readers. I would recommend this book to Christian readers or readers who are interested and open to understanding a Christian perspective and mindset. I wouldn’t recommend this book to non-spiritual and non- religious readers as it may not be as interesting of a read.
