SOMETHING WORTH READING FOR INSPIRATION is a motivational book written by Haripada Dhar. It is a consolidation of all the speeches and experiences of the author.

In this book, the author quotes and explains the verses of the Bhagavad Gita that will help us in the pursuit of God. The Bhagavad Gita has all the scriptures of the Hindu philosophy. The teachings of the Gita are the foundation of this book. The first few chapters of the book explain in detail the numerous benefits of meditation and how it can lead us to success and happiness. It also describes the seven energy centers of the human body, known as the chakras, that control our senses. There is a collection of small prayers at the end of the book that we can use while doing Japa or meditation. The author shares his experiences with Baba Hariharanada and Baba Nagaraj. Through his narrations, we can learn that the path of God can help us overcome problems of any magnitude.

What I liked most about this book is its emphasis on meditation. The author suggests that all of us need to meditate if we want to attain eternal bliss. He encourages youngsters and children to incorporate meditation in their daily life, as it would help them in the long run. I have personally benefitted from meditation and concur with the author that it helps relieve stress and improves health. The author explains in detail the many reasons to start meditating and its immense advantages. He also explains the seven chakras and how we can develop the chakras by meditation. The book tells us to incorporate meditation in our lives so that we can shun from materialism and focus on our goal, which is discovering God. The author has explained the different verses from the Bhagavad Gita and the importance of following them. Having faith in God is the crux of the book. It suggests that meditation improves our mental health and helps us come closer to God.

Often, we are busy in our materialistic lives and forget about seeking God. The book has many real-life stories from the author’s journey that further strengthens our belief in God and encourages us to seek Him. The concept of the “Golden Key” explained by the author is particularly fascinating and will help us tackle difficulties in a new way.

This book is well-written, but the editing could have been better. The book is very inspirational and promotes wellbeing, so I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to all above the age of 14 years. There is always something you can take away from an inspirational book, and this one is no exception.
