The Ultimate Guide for the Avid Indoorsman, is, in short, a fantastic book. It is quite short, coming in at only 221 pages, while still being informative and entertaining. John Driver, the author, makes his sense of humor come through clearly, while still maintaining a serious and informative tone throughout this guide to the indoor world. However, the tone, while informative, is entirely informal and almost conversational. This, coupled with his use of illustrations, makes for a rather amusing read. This book will make the reader laugh the entire time that they are reading it.

The Ultimate Guide for the Avid Indoorsman takes a satirical, yet informative look at the wonderful place known as "the indoors." This guide contains information on everything that has to do with the inside world, from the ancient origins of the concept of being inside, to the way to calculate the correct amount of space between the television and the couch for optimal viewing. This vast amount of information is put in such a way that it is easy to understand and relatable. This is aided by the rather amusing illustrations and figures that often accompany the information contained within each section.

One thing about this book that impressed me is that it contained no errors in grammar or spelling. This book has clearly been edited very thoroughly and professionally. Under ordinary circumstances, one can usually find at least one error, even in popular novels that have been reprinted time and time again. However, I could find no such thing in this guide. This author and his editor have done a fantastic job and are deserving of praise.

I rate this book as deserving of four out of four stars. This book has all of the elements that one looks for when searching for a book to simply brighten up their day. This guide is nothing short of hilarious throughout. I enjoyed this book enough to look for others by this author. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, and not just because it was funny. I enjoyed seeing the illustrations and figures, as well. The biggest part of my enjoyment came from the fact that I could find no errors in grammar, spelling, or formatting. When an avid reader comes across errors such as these, it often takes some of the enjoyment out of the reading experience.

I believe that anyone in their late teens or adulthood could enjoy this book. It does not matter their background or creed. The only audience that would not enjoy this book would be children. I say this because of the tone and wording of the book. I also believe that children would have a hard time grasping the satirical nature of the book.
