Review by Lefa-14 -- The ultimate love by Sherine Anniruth
The Ultimate Love by Sherine Anniruth is a short and heart breaking true story, that speaks about a mother who is grieving her late first-born child, by the name Nadeem Ragah. He was very sick and he passed away 4 years ago. In Scriptural terms, he is now in Heaven, living behind his mother, father and two siblings.
While reading the book, I could only image Sherine’s agony. As a mother myself, I tried putting myself in her shoes, trying to picture the depth of her wound of losing a child. The book highlights in detail the pain of losing a loved one, while also providing guidelines on how to cope with grief. No matter how many years back it might have been or how many children you might still have alive, you can never replace that one soul you loved, in fact still love dearly. Everyone has his or her own personality and in this case, Nadeem was hardworking, loving, caring and responsible too.
As Sherine Anniruth mentioned in the book, no parent wants to bury their own child; ideally, a parent would rather die to save their child’s live. Sherine also stated that people tend to think that you can easily forget and move on, which is impossible. She also mentioned that some people do not even understand why she has a shrine in her house, if it works for her why not.
This book has thought me never to underestimate the pain of a grieving person; it has also taught me that I should always provide all the support one needs to move on from such a devastating situation.
Sherine has also emphasized that the loss of a child is unbearable, in fact, it cannot be equated to any other pain out there and you do not want the world to forget them or their existence, you want their legacy to live forever. Indeed, people tend to forget those who have died very quickly, and expect those who were very close to them to forget too, which is impossible. You can only learn how to live without them, which also takes time, depending on individuals. As Sherine mentioned in the book, you can never forget them, especially your child, whom you raised their whole life.
As a Christian reading this book, I also loved the fact that Sherine highlighted the power of prayer and the foundation you need as a Christian to overcome pain. Therefore, it made it easier for me to connect and to relate to the book. I recommend that Christians read this book, as well as bereave friends, family, parents and siblings.
I have learned that no mother wants to bury her child; it is the hardest pain one can envision. However, it is the will of God, it is also written in the Bible that death exists, it is painful but we need to learn how live with it.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and the book was outstandingly well edited.
