Review by Dman_1996 -- Winning the War on Cancer
Winning the War on Cancer by Sylvie Beljanski tells the true story of Sylvie’s father, French scientist Mirko Beljanski, and his creations as a holistic doctor. This book is told into two parts: the first part discusses the work-life of Dr. Beljanski and the anti-cancer drug that he developed in his 40 years as a holistic doctor and the people he helped. The second part of this book follows life after Dr. Beljanski's death and how his daughter Sylvie continues to fulfill his mission of getting his products and message of holistic medicines out to the public.
Dr. Beljanski developed the very first anti-cancer drug that works on every type of known cancer. With the mixture of two extracts: Pao Pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria, Beljanski's invention has worked successfully well against two of the hardest cancers to treat; pancreatic and ovarian cancer. With many people in the world dreading the surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation that comes with treatment of cancer, Beljanski created an alternative method that is served in pill form and doesn’t hurt a person's normal cells in the process of killing the cancer cells. Beljanski helped so many people in France that eventually that government got word and seized all of his documents and equipment from his lab to stop further production of the cure. In this book, I was amazed by how hostile the government gets when it feels like Big Pharma is being threatened by holistic medicine.
Sylvie's last visit to her father before his death is what led her to become an advocate of his work. Remembering from a young how both of her parents cared for terminally ill people with alternative medicine; she decides to take on this journey of defending her father's name as a scientist and his work. With the establishment of the Beljanski Foundation – named after her father - Sylvie's life as a lawyer ends but, her start as a supportive daughter and advocate for Mirko’s discoveries is the start of a new life that has its up and down moments. In this book, you’ll find in-depth what surprising challenges and upsets that Sylvie goes through for the legacy of her father.
With all of this new knowledge and understanding of holistic medicine, I’m glad to give this book a 4 out of 4 rating. This book was very informative for me and it discussed the topic of cancer without it being too scientific. The author does a good job of defining words that everyday people who are not in the health field can understand. Pictures were used throughout this book and that was good to see because I’m a visual person so it helped me to see the things that were being described. I did not have any dislikes when I was reading this book - it’s that good.
I would recommend this book to individuals 18 years old and up even though there was no profanity or sexual content discussed in this book. Cancer is a very serious topic so I believe mature audiences that are open to alternative ways to prevent and treat cancer and other ailments should read this book. If you or someone you know that has cancer and they don’t want to take the usual route of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation then they would get a great deal of information from this book. If you’re a person that has cancer or knows someone that does and they are dedicated to the usual way of treating cancer and are not swayed easily, then I would not recommend this book to them. You have to be open to try new things that are out of your norm when depending on herbs, remedies, and alternative therapies.
Sylvie did a good job writing this book. I only saw a few grammatical errors within the book, but the good thing is that they do not distract you from the flow of the story. This book is ten chapters and the structure of it was great and how they put the book into two parts is what I enjoyed because we got the view from Dr. Beljanski and Sylvie.
I would advise people to go out and get this book and take away from it the wonderful advancement of medicine in today’s society can do wonders for your overall health.
