[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "My Velvet Elvis" by Ruth L Kirk.]
My Velvet Elvis is a memoir that centers on the experiences the writer had with certain animals. Ruth L Kirk, in her book, revealed a lot about these animals, such as their nature, how she adopted them, what she felt about them, the roles they played in her life, and some qualities they had.
I was amazed when I read the part of the book that the writer revealed the effect a particular animal had on her. This animal made her take a tremendous step. You can only discover this by reading this book.
As I read this book, it was apparent that the writer is passionate about animals, and as a result of this, I felt connected to the experiences of the writer. Also, I found the writer’s experiences with these animals to be exciting, heartbreaking, lovely, adventurous, and slightly scary.
The writer successfully sustained my interest throughout the flow of this book, as it was concise. Also, as someone who is intrigued by animals, I found this book to be relatable and enjoyable. I also learned a lot from this book, and I believe that these lessons will be beneficial in my relationship with animals.
Although the writer described the animals, I am glad that their nature was not left in the figment of my imagination because the writer included their pictures. It was difficult for me to decide on what stood out for me in this book because I loved every part of it. However, I believe the pictures present in this book are what I loved most because they were so lovely to behold, and seeing them made me decide to adopt similar animals.
The writing style adopted by the writer made the book easy to understand and engaging. As I read each page, I couldn’t wait to read the next page to unravel the experiences of the writer. I carefully read this book, but I couldn’t dislike anything about it.
I detected a few punctuation errors in this book, but they had no impact on my level of appreciation of this book. It is safe to conclude that the book was professionally edited. The positive comments I’ve made about this book proves that it deserves a perfect rating. Therefore, I’m rating it four out of four stars.
This book contains no vulgar language and erotic scenes. People who love reading books that revolve around animals will find My Velvet Elvis appealing, and I recommend it to them.
