The Cadence of Excellence by Matthew McDarby, is an incredible book for people who are in sales from the top manager to the frontline sales manager. The book focus on different aspects of sales and leading a sales team. It provides tips how to effectively track behaviour of your team and outcomes for future planning purposes. Guidelines on how to influence the behaviour of your salespeople as they are the ones that deal with the clients first-hand and focusing on the maximum value of your team. It gives you the tips on how to build and sustain a winning team that produces great results. In that team how to identify strong salespeople or during recruitment, to be able to differentiate the people that are discipled and the ones that are really disciplined, as there are several levels of discipline. When you find your great team fine tuning your operating rhythm, ‘another way to think about operating rhythm is to think of it as cadence -a flow or rhythm of event’.

I rate this book a 4 out 4 stars. I gave this book four stars because the book explains what is said in the title and doesn’t drift into unnecessary information. It provides practical tips with real life examples he went through and the lessons he learnt along the way and was taught by people he met.

The elements I liked the most is that in each chapter he shares fundamental tips great sales mangers differentiate themselves from average sales manager. At the end of the book he provides templets with questions and how to adapt the facts from the chapters into three main categories. I can trust his tips and have a higher chance of being true because the author is an advisor and the best sales leadership coach with a credible history in sales.

There were no typos or spelling errors the book was well-edited. There are photos and illustrations that make it easier to understand the context. It is effective because it enhances the book messages and the goal of the author.

I recommend this book for people who are already in sales and especially who thinking about going into sells or recruiting people into sales team. There is not a better time to read this book then now due to the global pandemic, sales have rapidly decreasing and businesses shutting down. So, reading this book by Matthew McDarby and having the selling edge will be a big advantage for your business.
