Review by Bookreviwer2020 -- How To Beat The Dream Stealers
Dream Stealers are everywhere! We see them in our family, in the media, and ourselves - barriers that hold us back from success.
David Mendenhall.
Do you have a dream? Do you find barriers, obstacles and negativity getting in the way of following your dream? If so, you may be interested in
How to Beat the Dream Stealers by David Mendenhall. This is a 136-page non-fiction book based on the writer's experience in business and as an entrepreneur. The book informs us how he overcame his obstacles and so is written mostly in the first person.
The book is split into three parts, and the first begins by informing us about the different philosophies surrounding issues such as dream stealers, the philosophy of time, the philosophy of success and so forth. Part two covers what are dream stealers and how to overcome them. Generally, these are people such as ourselves, others, and fear of leaving our comfort zones. Part three offers advice with stories and examples, about how to overcome these dream stealers and reach success.
What I liked about the book was first that it was well written and edited. I only came across two errors throughout the book. It is unique in that it covers dream stealers, which is a term I have not come across before and I have not seen dream stealers mentioned in other success books previously. It is of course, important to consider barriers to success when we want to find it. I found that the book helped me reflect on my issues, possible dream stealers and barriers. I had several moments of enlightenment into my issues. For this reason, I found the book to be well researched and thought out, and of great use and benefit, not only for those looking for success in their work but in all areas of life whether work, relationships, or improving other areas of life. The advice he gives is good, logical, practical and easy to follow and I felt he had a good insight into many of the issues people struggle with. He tells us that:
Dream stealers are any person, circumstance, or thought that influence you to belittle, quit, or give up your dreams p4
The main negative issue was only that there were a few errors. The contents page is also repeated twice.
Due to the above issues, I decided to rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I believe the book to be a great benefit to people struggling with negativity and other issues that hold them back. The small issues mentioned above did not require removing stars, and so for this reason I gave him all four.
Those who enjoy non-fiction, self-help books and are looking to benefit themselves in life, either through work, relationships or some other area would most likely benefit from the book.
I don't see anyone who would not benefit from reading this, it is suitable for any age and background. It does not contain any swearing, bad language or adult scenes.
