Official Review: 1st Generation Rich by Mark J. Migliaccio
1st Generation Rich, written by Mark J. Migliaccio, is a self-help book that aims to teach the reader how to build lasting wealth. In the book, Migliaccio shares the key ideas and methods that helped him build a profitable real estate portfolio. He also shares his life story: how he started from scratch as a college dropout, going against all odds to become a successful businessman.
Indeed, it is worth noting that the ideas in this book do not pertain only to real estate investing but investing in general. Readers will learn what it takes to build a money-making asset that pays them every month. They will also learn the habits and mindset of the rich. More importantly, the key selling point of 1st Generation Rich is that it is not written by some guru with the normal get-rich-quick promises; rather, it is written by a genuine businessman who wants to share how he built his moneymaking empire and how the reader can do the same.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 1st Generation Rich, as I found the author’s words to be inspiring. In fact, I was so inspired by his words that I highlighted several sentences in the book. Further, I appreciated his transparency when he shared his life story and how he started his first business. I cannot put into words how motivational his story was.
Furthermore, I found the advice in the book to be invaluable. From the author’s thoughts on money to his ideas about business, I found several key lessons that could be life changing. One of the important things that I learned is that we must be proactive about our goals and dreams. Daydreaming and waiting for something to happen to us often ends up in disappointments and unfulfilled dreams. If we truly want to succeed, then we must take action and make something happen to us.
Reading 1st Generation Rich, I could feel the author’s genuine desire to help the reader, and that is what I liked most. I dare say that this is one of the most honest, inspiring books I have read so far. And to borrow the author’s words, I believe 1st Generation Rich is a "diamond in the rough.” Indeed, the ideas in it are simple yet powerful.
Nevertheless, there was one thing I did not like about the book. I found more than ten errors in it and do not believe it was professionally edited. Because of this, I am obliged to rate it 3 out of 4 stars. But for the errors, however, I would have wholeheartedly given it the full rating, as it was an exceptional book with powerful ideas.
Finally, I would recommend it to anyone interested in business, real estate, and investing. More importantly, if you have a dream of becoming your own boss one day, then this is the best book for you.
