Official Review: Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies
First, I would like to thank Roger Mannon for this book. It is such a wonderful gesture from him to share what he’d experienced during his tenure with the US Army. Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies by Roger Mannon is a book about parapsychology. It involves what most know as out-of-body experiences. The author broke down his experience with this phenomenon into sixteen chapters detailing its impact on his life. You may think this book is a memoir, but it isn’t. It is about a secret US military project known as Project Center Lane.
Roger was a person of great potential. He was smart and hardworking, even as a young boy. Although Roger was a victim of sexual abuse as a child, he tried his best not to let that hold him down. If I am to have an opinion, I think this book is a testament he has overcome that hurdle. Project Center Lane’s aim was to induce altered states of consciousness to collect intelligence for the US Army. Mannon was among the twenty-four individuals selected to participate in the training at the Monroe Institute.
The training, comprising Robert Monroe’s out-of-body audio guide tapes, a mostly vegetarian diet, and a unique schedule, ran for a week. This training exposed the participants to a whole alternative universe of knowledge, power, and ability beyond comprehension. Being a believer in out-of-body experiences, I saw the author’s need to assure readers of the authenticity of these (out-of-body) experiences. I did not know that the US Army would want to use this ability to advance its military dominance in the world. The training program introduced the participants to specific routines that would enable intelligence collection through remote viewing. However, this program got to shape and change Roger more than he ever expected.
The book is magnificent in every way. However, I encountered a significant number of errors proving that the author did not engage professional editors. It was the only downside that I could find in the book. The author’s writing style is gentle and, thus, fun to read. Any reader will find this subject quite normal and believable because of the evidence presented and how the book is structured. I believe every adult can enjoy this book and even practice using the power of the mind.
The author’s ability to explain his logic and fit it into the grand scheme of things concerning his explorations when out of the body made the book exceptional. I wouldn’t recommend the book to younger readers because it contains content that may not suit them. I would’ve given the book a top rating, but I will have to rate Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies by Roger Mannon 3 out of 4 stars because of the many errors I encountered.
