Genetic Genesis: DNA Manipulation of Our Ancient Ancestors From the Original Biblical Text is a non-fiction title written by Albert E. Potts. The author narrates how he accomplished a deep dive into ancient Hebrew, a dead language, to unveil what he asserts to be the true meaning of the book of Genesis. He explains that it was written more than two thousand years ago in ancient Hebrew and then transcribed to a newer version of Hebrew, based on Aramean alphabetic characters (Biblical Hebrew). Only then it got translated to Greek by ancient Jewish interpreters.

Throughout the book, Potts walks readers through his thorough research. He deciphers and interprets the ancient Hebrew Genesis story. The author essentially posits that the Genesis account is about extraterrestrials (reptilian beings) who manipulated our ancestors' DNA for interbreeding.

What I liked the most about this book was its writing style. It is a well-written, well-structured, and scholarly account, and it resembles an essay or dissertation. It is a fresh reexamination of a traditional and well-known biblical narrative. Potts mixes personal stories and accounts with a novel perspective on the first chapters of the book of Genesis. He methodically takes us through each verse as he offers a full translation. I thought that the writing style was simultaneously gripping and erudite, and this feat is not easy to accomplish. Therefore, the book was at once engaging and educational. I particularly appreciated the way the author explored linguistic elements. He appears to have an excellent grasp of Hebrew, and I found this a noteworthy positive point.

On the other hand, as you may have imagined by reading the summary, some parts of the book were a little over the top and seemed rather hard to believe. For instance, the author goes into great detail about the aliens' hybridization program, including the concentration of their semen. There is also an intricate description of how the aliens accomplished in vitro fertilization (IVF). Although I approached the book with an open mind, aspects like these detracted from my reading experience. In my opinion, the author conveys a markedly far-fetched, albeit original and creative, point of view.

Lastly, after considering the previous aspects, I decided to rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I'm subtracting a star from the rating because I found some of the author's interpretations scarcely credible. Still, I believe it will appeal to open-minded readers who value fresh and unorthodox perspectives on religious narratives. If you're interested in the Hebrew language, I recommend that you check this one out. Readers who dislike less traditional interpretations of the Bible might not like it as much.

I always appreciate fresh perspectives on Biblical accounts, and this one sounds fascinating enough. But I'm not certain it is for me. The IVF element sounds incredulous.

Thank you for your review. The Hebrew interpretation sounds enticing to me but I would find it a hard stretch to get from the interpretation to DNA, especially since 2000 years ago when this was written in Hebrew they didn't know anything about DNA so how can the text reveal something about DNA?

Thanks for the review, although am a religious believer and am curios about knowing how an ancient dead language unveils to be the true meaning of the book of Genesis.
