A High Tech Business Venture: Startup, Growth and Closure: My Preparation for the Business Venture by Hariphad Dhar is a little memoir of the author's life and journey through hardship, innovations, and how he became a successful entrepreneur.

Mr. Dhar was raised in Bangladesh, a third-world Asian country. Many factors aided his educational careers, such as selfless contributions from Dr. Arun Kumar Basak, scholarships, and help from his elder brother. He lost his job as a Research Scientist with Energy Research Corporation (ERC) in Danbury, Connecticut. While in the company, he researched the fundamentals of fuel cell reactions, including energy devices for clean, non-toxic, and alternative energy. He later worked for Ementeck, Inc. and resigned after being sidelined in the company's expansion process. He then opened a biotech company, which later liquidated. What led to the closure of this promising venture, and how did Mr. Dhar handle it? Read up to be inspired.

I appreciate the fact that the author is more detailed in his narrative. The book takes the reader to a place of introspection characterized by critical thinking. I must commend the author for writing such a debut memoir. He did an excellent job. I appreciate how the author included his business plans, competitive submission for a recognition award, and some other documents because they can serve as a direction and inspiration to others in this field.

Mr. Dhar's struggled to establish himself amidst many rejections, discriminations, and poverty while giving topmost attention to his family. I believe many individuals who witnessed similar frustrations must have given up on their dreams and aspirations. This book teaches a vital attribute of not settling for less.

However, there were a few things I disliked about the book. It was not well edited as I found some grammatical errors and repetitions that affected my reading comprehension. I also felt the story part of the book had no clear distinction between time frames. Based on these reasons, I am rating A High Tech Business Venture: Startup, Growth and Closure: My Preparation for the Business Venture 3 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend the book to readers interested in science and technological novels. Also, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, and people of a disadvantaged background might find the book interesting. On a final note, the author's rise is an encouragement to the reader because it emphasized that "we only fail if we do not try."
