Would you like to take a journey into self-discovery and forever banish that constant feeling of being lost and left out? Pick up a copy of Trauma to Triumph by Sandra Cooper, and find the elusive piece that brings the puzzle of life together.

Sandra writes a painfully honest account of her struggles through life. She grew up with a large void in the space where her parent's love should be. She was used to unchallenged expectations of blindly following authority without complaint. She put up with physical, sexual, emotional, and verbal abuse. Furthermore, she got involved in destructive relationships and habits. Everyone expected her to live out the stereotyped life for a woman. These wounds gradually had their impact. She developed defense mechanisms that later got in the way of developing healthy relationships. It became increasingly difficult to trust others, difficult to speak up, and easier to be close minded. However, radical change was on its way.

Trauma to Triumph is an awesome book. It is potent medicine for low self-esteem and its attendant ills. The information recorded in the book stems from years of personal experience and professional experience. The book was eloquently written in simple grammar. Sandra's talents and experience as a psychotherapist explain the adeptness with which she writes.

All around the world, millions of people find themselves in situations similar to Sandra's. Family and societal life are far from perfect. So much pain and anger are pent up in millions of wounded hearts. Trauma to Triumph can offer the needed help to achieve self-discovery.

Overall, I find this book to be amazing. Its moderate size of 183 pages did not prevent it from storing valuable advice for day-to-day living. My most favorite feature of this book is the inclusion of Sandra's thoughts, which were typed in italics at the beginning of each chapter. They are honest and real. Often, they mirror my thoughts.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Its editing was awesome. I have gained much from Sandra's years of experience in life and psychotherapy. Now, I understand myself better. My only dislike about this book is its tilt towards religion. A sizable portion of the later part of this book was devoted to the author's involvement with her church. The text contains profanities as well. Nevertheless, Trauma to Triumph is a great book to have. I recommend it to all who would love to have a deeper understanding of their psyche.

The book contains valuable advice for daily living, making it adaptable to different contexts and scenarios. References to biblical texts might not be relevant to all readers, but it does not prevent appreciation of the text as a whole. Well done with an insightful contribution!

A sad but true reality for a lot of women, and millions as you have mentioned. I am so happy and proud of her. She overcame her demons and is now able to share her story! Nice review!
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

We all have some type of trauma. It's good to learn how to turn that around. Thanks.

This is a great review. I'm proud that she stood up for herself despite her distrust of others.

Because of the religious bits and that I'm not that into self-help, I don't think this is my cup of tea but I really enjoyed your review.

It is not easy to leave old habits, and the strains of emotional, physical, sexual and verbal abuse on our person. Great review.

Many of us are wounded in various ways. If this book can help to heal the wounds, then it is definitely worth of reading. Climbing out of the old habits is not easy, but it is possible. This book seems like it could give some advice on how to do it.

Thanks for your detailed review!
