Don’t judge this book by its cover! At first I thought this was going to be some crazy rant about current politics, but it is a thoughtful conversation regarding American political principles. It provides solutions to America’s most controversial problems and all without getting over zealous or arrogant. Jillian R. Rising does an immaculate job of separating each issue and tackling it with all the tact and expertise of a knowledgeable, well-researched educator. Rising uses facts and logic to make sensible political arguments in The Solution is Political Revolution . This book is special because it is from the point-of-view of an average, working-class American not a politician. Jillian R. Rising effortlessly dismisses partisan politics to have a genuine conversation about policy and future political recourse.

Perhaps the best part of this entire book is the section titled Teamwork Wins; Division is Destructive. It contains a brilliant metaphor that discusses the psychology behind identity politics. There are startling parallels to group think that readers will find shocking. This book promotes unity. One of the best quotes is on page seventy-four. Rising writes, “We must realize unity is our only strength to defeat the potential of an enemy that forms within America.” Many will find it refreshing that, for once, someone is trying to unify people under a shared ethos.

The book is not designed well aesthetically. Chapter titles are bold and underlined but that’s the only visual rhetoric the reader gets. I would have liked to see prettier design elements in the chapter titles. It would add to the credibility of the arguments in a visual way because, at first glance, this book looks amateur. There are few grammatical errors in this book.

The Solution is Political Revolution must be read by young people trying to ascertain how government works. This should be mandatory reading for high school economics or government class. It will help young people understand why politics, and economics by default, have become so polarized in the United States of America. It acts as a roadmap to the corruption found in big banks, the Deep State, and Wall Street. Perhaps most importantly, this book decodes the financial system so young people can understand how taxes and government spending works. This book would also be perfect for real estate agents and first time home buyers because it explains why the 2008 housing bubble burst. I would recommend this book to people who believe a strong, central government is best because Jillian R Rising makes people question this belief. Rising debunks the myth that central governments offer fair policies. Questioning one’s beliefs is a difficult thing to do, but Rising makes it abundantly clear that centralist government erodes its citizens will to innovate and take risks in the free market.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is absolutely brilliant in proposing manageable, feasible solutions to America’s political issues. This book takes on everything from immigration to deregulating the free market economy. It is explained so simply that young adults and teenagers would genuinely enjoy learning about politics (an otherwise boring subject to most young people). Rising paved the way for the next generation to fix the problems left behind by irresponsible government. I wish I could use it in my book club!
