Review by Felicia M -- Mysteries Of the First Instant
In reading the book Mysteries of the First instant: Illuminating What Science Hasn’t Answered by Daniel Friedmann, Dania Sheldon, the author Daniel Friedmann discusses what I felt were interesting concepts about the universe. He basically shares his intake backed behind his research on how the universe came to be. He speaks in detail about scientific discovery and the Big Bang theory. To further back up his findings, he provides illustrations and charts so the audience could better understand what was being talked about.
The positive aspect was this book was not all about science, there were stories told in different chapters about different people who were not scientists. An example would be the author speaking about the Hebrew alphabet and how it relates to nature. I found out by reading the book Mysteries of the First instant: Illuminating What Science Hasn’t Answered by Daniel Friedmann, Dania Sheldon that filaments were made of superclusters, clusters, galaxy groups and galaxies as well as the fact that the universes expansion is speeding up, not slowing down.
Another scholar that Daniel Friedmann mentions is Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan and his translation of the Sefer Yetzirah which by reading this book is extremely important regarding Kabbalah history. I further learned from reading this book that gravity always attracts, and that dark energy will cause the universe to continue expanding. The author Daniel Friedmann speaks about the Kabbalah revealing some key aspects of the Torah relating to Creation.
Furthermore, I learned that cosmogony is the word scientist use for the description for the origin or creation of the universe. I have always been interested and fascinated about the universe, the planets, the stars, and science in general. I really enjoyed reading this book, therefore, I found there to be no negative aspects in my opinion.
The book Mysteries of the First instant: Illuminating What Science Hasn’t Answered by Daniel Friedmann, Dania Sheldon is for those who love science, like to read, and learn new things about our universe. This book offers a lot of interesting information backed by research. I would give the rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I gave this book 4 stars because it was about the universe, was backed up by research and was interesting to read. I recommend those who have a love of science to read this book. However, if a reader is not into science or how the universe was formed, enjoy reading information about the stars and planets, this book would not be for that person.
