Are you feeling lost and can't find your footing due to verbal abuse or rejection from peers? Please follow Rachel Kling on her journey of self-discovery as she tells her story of triumph.

My Walk on the Aikido Path: A Healing Journey of Self-discovery by Rachel Kling is a true-life story. The author tells a pathetic story of how her life was empty and dark right from her childhood. Rachel's mum abused her physically and verbally. She also deprived her of motherly love. She suffered in a community where members were silenced and not allowed to speak up. As a result, she lost her confidence, which affected everything she did. She always saw herself as not worthy of doing anything right, and this feeling of belonging to nowhere made her suicidal.

Rachel decided to enroll in a physical therapist program at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York. Her classmates also made a mockery of her, and she became withdrawn and went into isolation. Fortunately, her transformation and breakthrough came when she met Leslie Russek, a professor, who invited her to aikido. Is it going to be a smooth journey? Or would she have to face more humiliation as usual? Pick this inspiring and self-discovery book to find out how things played out for Rachel.

Rachel Kling was very detailed in this book, and I love her descriptive writing style. The narration of her story was explicit, which will paint a clear picture in the reader's head. It was engaging and relatable. The author wrote in the first-person perspective, which drew me closer to her. I felt every single pain, humiliation, and abuse that she went through.

What I like most about this book is that the author reaches out to those who lack confidence. She uses the skill she acquired in aikido to connect deeply with them, build their self-esteem, and make them feel loved. Reading this book gave me insights into aikido and the first two steps involved in it. This book is fascinating and will be of great benefit to people experiencing the issues the author endured. The message of hope will encourage readers to get healing, change the narrative, and rewrite their life's story.

All in all, I found this book inspiring, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was captivating right from the beginning to the end, and it was difficult for me to put it down until I finished the story. I liked that the ending was satisfying too.

There is nothing I didn't like about this publication. It is an exciting read that everyone will enjoy, and it is not peculiar to only those that practice aikido. This book will be suitable for those who feel little of themselves and wish to improve their self-esteem and confidence. The author's story of self-discovery will help them harness their inner potentials and embrace happiness and a new beginning. I am also happy to report that the book is professionally edited and contains only a few typos. Hence, I am glad to rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I hope Rachel found the healing she so deserves. Prior to this review, I had not heard about Aikido and am now quite curious. Terrific job with the review!

I'm already in love with the fact that the author used the story of her self-discovery journey to inspire readers to strive to become better despite whatever ugly experiences they've had in the past. Great review.

I'd never heard of Aikido before, but after doing some research, it appears to be rather interesting. I will definitely read the book to learn how it helped the author on her path. Thanks for an excellent review!

It would be interesting to see how Rachel's journey pans out after being introduced to Aikido. It must have been sad for her being rejected by her family. Great review.

Glad to read that the author excellently shares her journey in the book. It is unfortunate that for a while it seemed that all she was receiving is humiliation. I am glad that she rewrote her narrative and is now using her experience to help others. Thank you for a lovely review!

It's really heart-breaking that some people go through such experiences in their childhood. Nevertheless, I'm glad she's in a place where she can look back on her experiences and share them as lessons. Thank you for the lovely review.

I love inspirational stories. This book will be loved by many people as it has such a strong positive message. Due to such great writers like her, people suffering from anxiety and lack of self confidence can feel strong enough to stand on their feet again and will help them to overcome the fears of their brutal past that they have endured. Thank you for such a wonderful review.

Review by itself very informative. It was like synopsis yet keeping the main theme secret to be known by the reader of the book. As he says that there were a few typos but not given in detail. Seems they were negligible.

It is good that the author found something to help her heal. Her upbringing seems really harsh with all the abuse and lack of love. Great job with the review.
