This is interesting, a recreation from the reality around a statue. It is quite sad that the author was born in such a circumstance but she has turned up an important lesson for others. It must have been hard though to live through such a situation. Congrats for being BOTD.

Henry and Grace started a Clayland family. Tragedy left a mark on everyone, but this memoir is a perfect reminder of what family and love are.

Clearly, this book sounds to enlighten the reader about the Mormon church, besides telling the reader how Henry managed family and life in general after the demise of Grace.

This book makes it appear that the Claylands are a unique family. It must have been difficult residing five Children all by one's self and refusing assistance. This is an intriguing BOTD.

It is an interesting story of love and sadness. It is quite sad that the author was born in such a condition, however, it is a guide for a unique lesson of life. Congrats for being BOTD.

This sounds like a heart warming read. The fact that the author is Henry's child makes it seem to me that she is able to look back at the past week a renewed objective perspective. Kudos!

This book sounds very emotional. I can’t imagine having to raise five children after one’s spouse has died or being one of the children in such a situation. Tying the family’s personal journey to the destruction of the statue seems like a very apt metaphor for it; you couldn’t make up something more appropriate. Thank you for the helpful review.

Memoirs are inspirational, and I would love to explore Clayland's family life story. As mentioned in the review, the family experienced challenges in life, but how did they deal with the challenges? I will read the book to find out. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

Thanks for your review. I like books that address family love, so the story about Henry Clayland's and his descendants' lives seems interesting. And it looks like the statue of Serenity has a huge influence on the family.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I have many times wished my Mom would have kept journals of her life for us children to remember her by, she was taken too soon and I feel we had so much more to learn from her. This family is fortunate that they are able to document their lives like this.

Thank you for a very nice review. You have given us a great look inside this family’s story and helped us see that we need to read it. I’m a little hesitant, only due to the Mormon factor. But I may read it anyway. I did like the few pages I read before coming here.
Great review and it looks like a great story!

I was touched by what the family went through and how the statue of Serenity was desecrated. The connection between the the Clayland family and the statue of Serenity pricked my attention and will lay a hand on this book soonest.

This seems like a nice family history book. I quite agree that sometimes parents decisions can affect their children.
