Review by Softboo -- Smart Love by Vincent Fudge II
The book, Smart Love: The Manual by Vincent Fudge II, is a fictional, inspiritional, and motivational piece. Edward faces a domestic violence charge. He is married to Ebony and has two kids, Elizabeth and Elijah. The fight is because of a tampered thermostat. Edward ends up jailed for forty-seven hours and gives a three thousand dollars cash bond. Edward is walking in a path of redemption and decides to find new ways to fix his marriage and strengthen the bond. He comes up with a relationship guideline and modes of application.
The insightful guideline is called Smart Love. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bond. It's basically about how one can become a better relational partner. Improve their communicational skills, accept and adopt one another's visions. Couples also learn how to measure their progress. He comes up with effective ways of supporting a healthy conversation. He drafts a twelve-month methodology on how to overcome problems in a marital affair. Every month he solves a problem and gives a vivid example for better understanding.
The author shares relationship concepts and illustrates on the approach. Vincent has depicted themes of love, resentment, tolerance, accountability for one's actions, and much more. Fudge is a witty author with skills on how to create a healthy relationship. I learned that one should wholeheartedly invest in therapy because your partner might not always be the problem but you.
I love how the author has tackled sensitive issues in marriage in a friendly way. The book is well-written and easily understood.I loved the examples because they made the story engaging. The storyline is perfect, ie from January till December, one learns how to solve issues wisely. I loved the explanations in every case scenario.
There is nothing for me not to love about the book. It's full of amazing tips and concepts on how to improve your relationship.
For flawless writing and editing, I rate this book 4 out 4 stars. There is a lot to execute from the story. Generally, learning how to be a better partner requires a lot of commitment and trust. The book has few manageable pages that are well written.
I'd recommend this book to couples that are facing problems in their marriage. I would give this book as a gift to the newlyweds. For those who can't afford a marital therapist, this book will do. To those with poor communication skills, this is the book for you.
