I've never read a book with a writing style quite like this one. I definitely admire the author's courage and unique style. Thanks for your comment!

I'm sorry you went through that, and I agree that you could probably relate to Strommen's story. The writing style is definitely hard to get used to; there were points that the writing verged onto rambling, but I understood why it was written that way, so it didn't bother me too much. Autoimmune disorders, eating disorders, and mental health diagnoses often go hand-in-hand, and as one facet becomes more challenging and complex, all of the others seem to as well. Such a book would certainly require a great deal of strength and bravery to share and write, so I admire this author a great deal. Thank you for your review!

Thanks for doing justice to this review. I really appreciate the author's courage to share her story. Singing also helps me in my trying times too.

The gender perspective on the author's mental illness sounds fascinating. It sounds as if this is a challenging read because of the style and overwhelming soundtrack, though. Excellent review!

It’s definitely a fascinating read in many ways. The soundtrack does get overwhelming if you try to keep up with every song, but it won’t affect one’s understanding of the book if they don’t listen to the songs/playlists provided. Thanks for commenting!

I applaud the author for sharing her story and I would love to read it. As someone who struggles with mental health, I think this book is valuable for sharing real-life experiences so people who cannot relate personally could at least try to understand what many people around them might be going through.
