Exploring Wine Regions -Bordeaux France by Michael C. Higgins, PhD.

If wine and traveling are one of your hobbies, this book by Michael C. Higgins PhD, is a copy you should have. The book Exploring Wine Regions-Bordeaux France, explores the Bordeaux wine regions and does an excellent job. From the different Bordeaux varietals to what makes good wine to be, the first, second and even third wines. The processes, the properties and their deep history. All you need to know about wine and the hospitable offers in the different wine estates.

The author, Michael C. Higgins, PhD, took 21 days on ground in Bordeaux. This is reflected on the book's indepth insight topped with well researched details and the very clear and authentic photos that brings the book to life definitely awakening one's excitement. I literally drooled over some pictures. "I could literally feel the ambiance of a French Tuscany setting", the author explains from one of his experiences in Bordeaux. The history behind wine growing in France and Bordeaux specifically, the different terriors, the vine stocks, seasons of grape growing, the different wine making processes, the towns around Bordeaux with hotels, restaurants and shopping centres explored, the making of wine barrels and how that impacts the wine, all of this detailed in this book. It is a full guide one would need to find his way around France's Bordeaux region. At the back page 475, The index will definitely help you find your way around easily.

I was impressed by the author's use of very simple language with the touch of French language which brings out the authenticity of the information. The information is more precise, descriptive and very guiding. If you need clarification on the terminologies, page 485 has a "Glossary of wine terminologies". This makes reading this book educative and informative.

By the end of this book, you feel an expert in wine and with grown desire in the same. I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars as it is exceptionally well edited. A very good read and guide for an explorer.
