The Ultimate Love is the ultimate love story of the mother and the son. Nadeem, the firstborn of the author Sherine Anniruth died untimely due to cancer. Relationship with firstborn is always special. Anniruth has spiritually felt that bond with her son every day, even after his death. Losing firstborn, compassionate, caring, strong, loving, and ideal child that at the very young age had left the mother with unending grief. She explained how grief is terror as well as it can be the last act of love to those we love.

In The Ultimate Love, she recounted how to she coped with the merry-go-round of grief. People think that time will heal the scars, but she highlighted the necessity to mourn with grief otherwise it keeps chasing and imprison your life. She recounted her phases of healing like sadness, remembrance, internal struggles of emotions, approaches like calming strategies, meditation, remembering happy memories, and at last faith in God that he will take care of the dead in the other world.

The book has beautiful quotes. My takeaway quote from this book is Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, Unheard, but always near. And very dear. Moving on is not easy and especially for a mother after losing her son. The struggle remains there forever.

Written in a very lucid way, but with powerful emotion. It forced me to think that life is too short. It always gets late, we often don't recognize the importance of things and time until it has been taken from us. In her words, "We feel many things remain unfinished, unshared talks and regret of not doing together what we planned". She ended the book with a heart-touching letter to her son. It made me feel about the people going through pain due to the unprecedented and untimely loss of their parents, children, and relatives during the Covid-19 pandemic.

There is no profanity in the book. The language used is simple. There are 5-6 typos and grammatical errors. The only negative aspect of the book is repetition. But I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it needs the courage to write about such a loss. I recommend this book to the one who is reeling under immense grief due to the loss of a loved one. Hope this will give them more power as well as courage to face.
