At a time when so many people are being hit with so many things that look like they want, this author Allen Francis is really good at using minimalist principles to focus on what is important. I have tried for awhile now to make my life simpler and more manageable. This book validated my belief that it can be done easier then one usually thinks. For example, last year I gave up my car, we now lease, we discontinued our cable TV and we now use a pay as we go cell phone( no more expensive land line), and no more netflix; however we still subscribe to the newspaper and still own a TV and we never tackled decluttering our home. Now with this book in hand I feel I can tackle my living space too. I hope to sustain the discipline to implement the practical concepts revealed in this book. This is really encouraging and the book is easy to read too, it seems decluttered. I found this book to be very inspiring and is a great primer for those who aren't familiar with simple living. Francis gives the reader many things other then possessions to think about. I liked that. I agree; having things is not the road to happiness. I totally recommend this to anyone embarking upon a new chapter in their lives, and those who are especially interested in engaging a meaningful life by exploring what minimalism genuinely is.
