Eggstravagant Easter Eggs by Maya Elston provides information about the decorations of eggs on the Easter evening. One of the major concerns on Easter evening is that of egg decorations and this book provides an overall very helpful guide for the same. The book starts by explaining briefly the history behind Easter and egg decorations and the different traditions all around the world, their meaning in different countries, which makes the book very interesting. The author goes onto explaining choices of eggs, tools and equipment, methods, decoration ideas, egg paintings and many more related content.

Maya Elston has put together all her own experiences in this book. As the title suggestsEggstravagant Easter Eggs: Over 200 ideas for artistic looking eggs, this book has numerous ideas. At the beginning of the book to help readers easily go through their desired particular content, there are titles of all the topics present in this book which makes it very helpful if you are looking for a quick referral to a particular content.

I liked the way she has included pictures with descriptions written underneath them for a clear understanding for readers. It also serves as a quick referral and makes it easier to understand what she is describing. This also shows that the purpose of her book is to help people in the best way possible and she has put a lot of effort into this book. Along with sharing her ideas and methods, She also explains the advantages and disadvantages of certain types of eggs or certain methods, their origin and history briefly. She has also noted down the mistakes she made while decorating and what she has learnt from them so readers can avoid those. There is a lot of information on every aspect of egg decorations, theme-based decorative ideas, projects, from what to buy and where to buy, she has tried to cover it all, so you get a sound idea about all that is needed to know and this is what I liked the best about this book.

The author also mentions that she has used designs in the book that are traditional, some she has simplified and some are her imagination. From extravagant to simple designs, this book has it all and it's up to readers to decide what they chose. She also encourages everyone to try their own designs if they have any or from another resource they can get. Eggs are difficult to work with because of their shape and curve so she has also shared ideas on how to work with them. With how carefully she has described the ideas and projects with also adding witty humour in between so readers derive some enjoyment too in addition to informational education, I could not find anything to dislike about this book. Maya Elston has also mentioned that some projects are not for children so they should avoid them.

I rarely found any error so it seems that the book is professionally edited. This book serves its purpose well. So I rate it 4 out of 4 stars as I enjoyed reading this book very much.

I will recommend this book to everyone looking for interesting ideas to decorate their Easter eggs for displays. However, I will not recommend this book to people who are looking for ideas about Easter egg hunts as this book is not about that, the author has clearly mentioned this.

It sounds like this book has some elaborate designs. I'm not much for decorating Easter eggs (I'm more inclined to buy the plastic ones and fill them with candy :shhh: ), but I would be interested in her designs overall. Thank you for your review and recommendation! :balloon:
