This book is a thought-provoking and exhilarating mix of motivation, words of wisdom, and inspiration. It seeks to inspire people to hear from the spirit of God. The author was inspired to write by a small, still voice of the Holy Spirit. The advice and quotes in it are varied and fascinating and may resonate with many people, especially Christians, who are looking for motivation to overcome different obstacles in their lives. While the author is adept at relaying his backstory and what led him to write this book, it is most compelling when he spews wisdom for the readers to be soaked in. Providing a rich mosaic of outlooks on life, this book is exquisite and will inspire change in many people. It will engage thoughtful people everywhere.

Last Words from Above is a short Christian non-fiction book authored by Jeremy Brown. It offers a prescription for naturing and feeding the soul so as to become a better version of yourself. An ardent hope that readers will be better listeners, adopt the right mindset and strengthen their faith in God. The book has a collection of quotes that may not only be useful to Christians but also people of all walks of life.

What makes this book compelling is how relatable the quotes are. The quotes are numbered; hence, it is easy for a reader to come back and refresh their minds with their favorite quote from the book. Furthermore, the way the book is structured, a reader doesn’t necessarily have to read it in one go; they can only read it when they need a piece of motivation. There is something counterintuitively warm and comforting in a deeply-considered book that contextualizes Christian teachings, making them easily consumable to people from other religions. It would be selfish for me if I fail to applaud the author for doing an excellent job.

One of my favorite quotes from the book was, “Fear often forms a wall right in front of our destiny. Whenever we choose not to go through it, we may be choosing to abandon our destiny.” This quote will still be relevant hundreds of years later. Reading this book is like reading a modern version of proverbs. What makes it even more interesting is that even young readers can read and enjoy it equally.

There is nothing I disliked in this book. The editing was superb, and all the quotes are comprehensible. With everything in deliberation, I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Christians, in particular, will enjoy reading this book. I also recommend it to everyone else who is seeking motivation and words of wisdom.
