[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "You Are Designed to be Successful" by Freddie Floyd Jr.]
Are you struggling with understanding who you are, your purpose on Earth, and what God expects from you? Have you been experiencing several difficulties in life and do not understand the reasons for them? Freddie Floyd Jr. strongly believes that you have been going about things in the wrong way. In a world where a lot of people have put their faith in man and turned their backs on God, it will always be difficult to know who we truly are and navigate through the tough journey that is life. Therefore, The author's book, You Are Designed to Be Successful, is presented to us with one goal in mind: channeling our focus back on God, "the author and finisher of our faith."
Comprising six concise and straight-to-the-point chapters, ranging from "Knowing God" and "Faith" to understanding that "We Are Here To Give," You Are Designed to Be Successful was an inspirational read and a good reminder of certain things that I have overlooked in life. The author does not include personal stories while passing his message but heavily employs Bible scriptures at every turn in a way that not only makes his message clear but also brings readers closer to God.
I connected with the author's confident tone, as he always sounded certain about God and what He can do for readers if they submit to Him wholeheartedly. Also, a lot of effort was put into presenting the lessons in their simplest form, with comparisons revolving around weight loss and getting to know God and planting seeds and faith among my favorites. Freddie Floyd Jr. also explores a few thought-provoking aspects of life, including money and the responsibilities and dangers that come with it and avoiding blaming people for our choices like Adam did after eating the forbidden fruit.
However, while I found the contents of the book helpful, it does not necessarily explore anything groundbreaking. The advice dished here was significant but came across as just reminders to me and not new lessons. This was my only issue with the book.
Overall, I enjoyed reading You Are Designed to Be Successful. It also seemed like a professionally edited book, as I found six errors that didn't affect my reading flow too much while reading. I rate this book four out of four stars. I mentioned an issue above, but the book fulfills its goal of putting readers' focus back on God, especially when they have turned their backs on him. I would recommend this book to people who want to improve their faith and relationship with God and find their purpose in life through God.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you (Matt. 6:33)." - Page 37.
