Review of Selling with Presence
Over the years many sales professionals have always emphasized the sales process. The neglect of human connection in the process of sales contributes to the decline in closing the deal. Reggie Pearse a sales professional expert with over 20 years of experience has sort to improve the sales capacity for those in sales careers. He had successfully run a family business from its bankrupt state to its booming level. With an honest look at his failure and success in GE, he writes to help the reader grasp what it takes to build a viable sales presence that produces results.
The author sets out to give us his own story and experience from where he draws lessons. Having hit the rock bottom in his sales presentation, Mr. Reggie becomes the best teacher on how to improve sales presence. He lays out practical ways of applying the presence in all the phase cycles of the sales processes. Indeed, the sales process is only but a map for sales presences. The author gives an array of exercises for the reader to improve the presence presentation, facilitation, personal branding skills, and developing social media presence. Truly, developing selling skills is not a walk in the park.
The personal experiences shared give this book a lively tone. He shares his vast experience with other salespersons and from personal accounts. One touching experience was with Michael Hatton. It displayed how manipulation sets in if sales presence is not the center of the sales process. This was so clear with my little experience in sales, that I have at one time acted like Hatton.
It almost seems like I was in a coaching session with Reggie. His exercises and practical approach make this a self-help book for sales professionals. The book is well researched and full of links to other websites for more resources. The reader can easily look up a specific activity and learn more about it from the suggested links.
The author gives the reader a motivational conclusion of Selling With Presence. He thrust the readers to consider applying the ideas and information he gives. I have been challenged on how to use personal branding and social media platforms to enhance sales.
Every sale professional need information and educative content of this book. The book is exceptionally edited. My best rating of the book is 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to all business mentors, coaches, and sales professionals.
