Review of Unchecked capitalism is killing us!
Wake Up! Unchecked Capitalism is killing us is truly a strong argumentative essay in which the author, Earl B. Rynerson depicts all the faulted specifications of the current globalized capitalistic American society. He thoroughly describes the control that the elite possesses over different industries and how this societal destructive pattern emerged during Regan's era, and evolved so gradually to the extent that it became unnoticed by the population. He continues to explain how corporate greed has ruled the political scene in the U.S. and elaborates on the fact that continuing down this road is going to wipe out the true essence of American democratic values and eventually lead to an oligarch ruling style.
The book is beautifully written using coherent vocabulary and direct phrasal structure to deliver to the reader a highly complex issue in a very simple manner, which is a very hard mission to accomplish for a writer. He discussed the roots of the presented problem, its evolution and consequences, making a tremendously accurate liaison between unemployment, drug abuse, depression, health problems and fast paced lifestyles. He uses various case studies as credible examples to fortify his attacking arguments. He stressed on institutional greed and corruption, proving through numerical data various cases ranging from corporate tax evasion, the length undergone by interest groups and lobbyists to ensure self-benefactory legislations or even bank scandal deadlocks.
I did not find any negative aspects to this alluring work. Actually, it is well constructed and you can easily progress through reading it as it is very harmonious and fast-paced. The fact that each chapter depicts the defaults of an independent industry makes the book really interesting and enriching to the reader.
This book fully deserves 4 out of 4 stars. due to its lack of any linguistic errors. It was professionally edited. Not only this but also it is apparent that the conclusive literature reached by the writer is the summary of years of well conducted personal research, to elucidate neglected important issues by the government and the media. Additionally, every single detail is highly referenced, creating an atmosphere of credibility and authenticity to his claims.
Due to the fact that this book canvasses a societal American phenomenon, I recommend this book specifically to anyone who is a social science student, political enthusiast or just a knowledge seeker. This book is going to enlighten your perspective on undiscovered territories and is going to make you question after finishing reading it, on whether the American dream has turned into an American nightmare.
