Last Word From Above: Medicine of the Spirit is a book of divine inspiration. The author Jeremy Brown begins the book with a prologue. His richness and master of the art of mediation and stillness have borne much fruit in his writing carrier. In a world that many are struggling to hear God, Jeremy tells us how he has been able to hear his voice. The book is shaped and informed by the Word of God from every line of the quotations shared. The author tells us how he journals and the way his journaling has been of great help to his spiritual life. His opening prologue captures the heart of the entire book.

The book contains 2001 quotations in about 179 pages. The format that the quotations are placed makes it unique and easy to read. The words of wisdom in these pages cover a variety of themes and express the perspectives of the divine word. The theme covered ranges from love to hate, hurt to recovery, loss to gain prosperity to poverty, from sin to forgiveness, eternity, and damnation. The quotation with the same theme follows each other in sequence.

what I love about this book is the wit and thought-provoking capacity of the quotations. I could not help but think through the words and gaze upon the perspective behind them. It is always my joy to find writings that can help me think alongside the scriptures. The author achieved this with his quotations. Nevertheless, the quotations have a sense of humor that leaves the reader laughing. The ingenuity and skill of writing are that of Proverbs (a book in the Bible). The quotation evokes laughter and its poetic wording sustains the curiosity to continue to read through and through.

It is easy to trace the quotation one would want to reread, because of the numbering. However, I found the numbering so disturbing. The format makes it like a list of rules that can easily make one get tired. Though this was unique in any book I have read and does not hinder the enjoyment of the wisdom the book offers.

I enjoyed the read. With all considerations, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is exceptionally edited. I recommend this book to all who are developing the art of meditation. The Christian readers and those who do not ascribe to Christian teaching will find a great gem of wisdom for life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it does read like a modern book of Proverbs. I ended up with 60 of the quotes in my personal list. :D
