Safe in My Soul is a book written by Lorna Stephens. The book chronicles the author's childhood to adulthood experiences. The book is captured in many words, mixed with a sour story of finding God and forgiveness. The story is tinged with abuse, trauma, and out-of-body experiences. The book focuses on the author's spirituality, near-death, and pre-birth experiences.

The story starts with the author recalling her encounter with God at the age of three. This encounter will be her anchor in a home filled with abuse and violence. Her experience at home, combined with other saddening and hurtful occurrences, would make things worse for her. This thread of events culminated in her first near-death or out-of-body experience. A life-changing experience that would pave the way for her journey into the world of discovering other people's near-death experiences and ultimate forgiveness. Read Safe in My Soul by Lorna Stephens to get the full details of all her spiritual experiences.

The author writes with the flair of one who has a lot to say. She gives an enthralling rendition of her life experiences and encounters in simple words, without watering the emotions involved. The author's choice of words and writing style is one of the positive aspects of the book. These, coupled with the author's ability to keep one engaged and curious about what will transpire in the coming chapters, enhanced the quality of the reading experience. There were new and even strange things about life mentioned in the book. This is fascinating, especially to people who have an appetite for mysterious and bizarre things.

Sexual abuse is one of the themes of the book. Reading some chapters became emotionally tasking, as the experiences were sour and hurtful to behold. The author seems to advocate for the forgiveness of people who had hurt us and acceptance of one's plight. This does not in any way sound pleasing or even understandable. There were also some aspects of the story that needed more clarification. For example, she delivered a presentation at a school about near-death experiences, which the students deemed to be offensive. I also noticed several grammatical errors in the book. For these reasons, I am rating Safe in My Soul 3 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to a mature audience, keen on reading about near-death experiences or other kinds of out-of-body experiences. Conclusively, Safe in My Soul is a roller-coaster of bitter-sweet experiences.

The book sounds different and unique from other books with similar topics. What got me most intrigued is the author's 'pre-birth experiences. Definitely looking forward to reading this one.
