In Most Effective Discipleship Seeds (MEDS), D.S. Foster enunciated principles that will help a Christian grow in his spiritual journey. The author touched on different facets of spirituality and extensively explained what is required of a Christian to attain the highest level of growth in all areas.
The seeds contained in the book will help the believer build great intimacy with God. It will also help the believer familiarise with the implications of different Biblical concepts so as to minister with great confidence to other believers. The book is basically designed to help the Christian grow in all areas of his life. Find out which Christian principles are discussed in the book by reading through its pages.
The book contains positive points. I love that the author simplified the principles he enunciated in the book. They are straight to the point and devoid of all complexities. The average Christian should not have any difficulty comprehending the precepts explained by the author. I also love that the author did an in-depth analysis of the scriptures in the book. He clearly has a good understanding of the Bible, and he did a great job at passing that knowledge to the reader.
On the contrary, I didn't like the addition of too many pages in the book. Some pages were unnecessary. The 'sample fellowship format' part of the chapters contained the same information as the 'further information' part of every seed in the book. I also didn't like that a lot of the book's pages were occupied by the book's appendix. That made the book unnecessarily bulky.
The book was professionally edited. I found errors that could be overlooked in it. However, owing to the repetition of information in the book, which made it unnecessarily bulky and affected my enjoyment of the book, I rate it 3 out of 4 stars. I didn't give the book a lower rating because, being a Christian, I found the concepts explained by the author beneficial to my Christian life.
Christians who wish to find new ways to grow in their spiritual journey will find the principles in this book very helpful. Also, preachers of the gospel will find helpful information that will broaden the scope of their messages in the pages of this book.
The book will not appeal to readers who are not Christians. It is Christian fiction and contains a lot of Bible verses used to buttress the points of the author. However, Christian readers will have the best time reading through its pages.
