Have you ever tried starting a project, and you don't know where to begin, or you've started a project and you got stuck along the way? The #1 Project Management Mistake, Plus 7 More Lessons by Wesley T. Berry guides the reader through several stages of project management.

The book starts with an introduction which contains the aim of the book and the different phases any project can be broken down into. The first mistake project managers make is seeing project management as an individual journey. The importance of team input is then discussed. The book guides the reader through setting up project teams, managing the teams, and several other things associated with project teams. The book also discusses the role of stakeholders in project management. Several other topics are discussed. The book gives guidelines to follow for starting up a project, actually carrying out the project, and even giving reports after you've initiated the project. Grab a copy of this book now to find out how to go about with your project management.

What an interesting piece this is. I enjoyed reading every part of the book. What I loved most about this book was the author's approach to solutions. The book contained solutions to problems that are practical and not just estimated. I picked the book because I've been planning on going into consultancy for a while now. I know that I'll be taking on responsibilities for some projects, and I've been reading about project management online ever since. But, I must say that this is the best book on project management I've read so far. Although, the author mentioned that the book mainly covers soft skills and not much of the hard technical know-how. The book was still quite easy to comprehend as opposed to other books I've read. Learning is a process and is similar to the construction of a building. A building needs a foundation before bricks and other materials can be laid. This book offers the reader a foothold or foundation for project management.

There was absolutely nothing I disliked about this book. The book was structured properly. The structuring ensured easy understanding. Even a layman with no prior knowledge of project management would grasp the message this book is trying to pass on. I love how it gives step-by-step solutions to problems. For example, in handling difficult conversations, the book first gives steps to follow while preparing for the process, before moving on to managing the process and focusing on the problem. The book is also written in simple vocabulary, so the reader can grasp information faster and easier. The book was also well-researched, and the author made sure to cite his sources and reference other literary pieces appropriately.

The book was exceptionally and professionally edited. I didn't come across any errors while reading. I love the author's writing style. It was original and engaging. Above all, the author was able to achieve the objectives he set out while writing this book. I'm therefore rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to project managers and aspiring project managers.
