The family is one of the important social units. Most people in the world trace their origins to certain families. Therefore, families play significant roles in the upbringing of individuals – to ensure continuity of the lineages. Different Family Structures by Mildred Stallworth is a well-crafted and educational book that explores various elements of a family.

The author of this enlightening book begins by explaining what a family is and why it is important in a person’s life. She views a family as a source of love, support, identity, security, guidance, and a basis of values. However, the primary purposes of a family are production and reproduction. Furthermore, the book discusses various methods for creating and sustaining strong family ties, which is not always easy to do.

Other topics covered in this educational book include family types (nuclear, extended, single parenting, blended, and immediate families), family core values, divorce, family violence, and parenting. In addition, the book fully explains the advantages and disadvantages of various types of families. Sincerely, you will gain a lot of knowledge from reading this book.

This is a brief book with only 42 pages that can be read in a short period of time. It’s also broken down into ten chapters, each focusing on a different aspect of the family. This is an excellent book from which its readers will gain a lot of knowledge about family matters. This type of book requires extensive research, which the author did excellently, as all areas of the book have been thoroughly researched and addressed.

Almost every aspect of this book is appealing. Its cover page is stunning and effectively portrays the book’s content. The explanations are given in plain language, making it easy to understand the book. Furthermore, the author included pictures in the book. This enhanced comprehension of the entire text. The book’s introduction was also impressive. There was nothing about this book that I didn’t like.

You’ll notice there are several themes in this fantastic book if you read it carefully. Themes in the novel include family, divorce, parenting, and culture. However, most readers, particularly those who’re frequently deceived by the book’s title, may miss out on reading this excellent book because they may incorrectly assume that it is for lower-class children, which is not the case.

I give this book a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited, as there were no flaws in it that I could detect. In addition, the book’s cover page was appealing and accurately depicted the content in it. Readers who appreciate non-fiction books will enjoy this book. It will also be useful to those who are interested in studying and exploring family topics.
