Review of Butterfly Awakens
Butterfly Awakens by Meg Nocero is an amazing book that takes us through the transition that Meg has to face, the struggles, depression and the transformation. The author takes us through her life journey and we clearly see how she has to put in a lot of work, time and resources before she clearly understands who she is and what her purpose is. This is a story of pain, suffering, anxiety and depression that eventually is conquered through the help friends, books and exercises.
Butterfly Awakens has a lot of positive aspects. The first would be the humor. Meg isn’t a comedian but she had me laughing plenty of times because of how she described certain things and scenarios. This really helped me to keep reading and increased my love for her and her work. Additionally, there are real and practical lessons that I got to borrow from the author, lessons that will really aid in my personal journey of self-discovery and growth. This being the ultimate goal for anyone seeking to find their life’s purpose, I would say the book in a real guide. Through the book, I got to appreciate life and learnt to cherish every moment we have, because it is not permanent and no one would want to live in regret after a loss. I learnt that death is part of life and as much as it may be hard to accept and move on without the people we lose, it is important to keep living and work towards overcoming grief and the pain brought by death. Getting to see Meg’s pain and everything she went through, I got to appreciate women and every form of sacrifices they make for their loved ones and the community at large. Lastly, Meg is so resilient and keeps pushing even when it feels like she shouldn’t. This really was inspirational and it gave courage to face every day with confidence and a broad smile.
I did not notice anything negative about the book. I believe everything was really amazing and there was a lot of positive energy.
As for the rating, I definitely give a 4 out of 4 because the author really goes out of her way to share her deep and personal moments of weakness and strength, not as a way of weakness, but all with the intention of inspiring someone. That’s not something I would take for granted. It was a bold deed that helped me get out of my cocoon just like Meg.
This book is suitable for anyone who has experienced a loss that left them feeling like the world is over and they can’t move on. Meg will hold your hand and help you transition. If you have been depressed for a while, lost hope, felt useless, I implode you to read this inspirational book and your life will not be the same again.
