I must say that Celebrate Life With The Simple Things: A Poetry Collection I by Kimberly Grell struck me as my next choice right as I’d read the title. I was in need of such soothing and peaceful words, much like everyone at some point in life. The title really covers what you will find in this book, but it is always fun to quench one’s curiosity with more information, so here is the summary: ‘’Celebrate Life With The Simple Things: A Poetry Collection I consists of 10 pieces of original free verse poems all about the simple things in life. Celebrate Life With The Simple Things: A Poetry Collection I is inspiring, motivational, and mentally stimulating. All poems have subliminal messages that pertain to the five senses. This mini book includes;

-Keep Flying
-Reborn
-Losing A Piece Of Ourselves
-The Rains Acapella
-A Writers Instrument
-Faded
-Reflections
-Hold Thee
-Through The Eyes
-In Shadow

Celebrate Life With The Simple Things: A Poetry Collection I will leave you awe-inspired and with a greater appreciation for the simple things in life that are overlooked and taken for granted in today's society.’’

I almost have only good things to say about her poetry collection, and it is something that happens quite rarely in general. You must awe me with your books, which she managed to do in a very ‘simple’ way ;). Usually, I rate all of the technicalities and typography, but I was given a .txt version, and I realized I could not necessarily do it. So, I went and read an excerpt on Amazon to verify if it appeared well. I admit I wasn’t disappointed! The book cover is simply magnificent! Those clear, mixing colours give it a pinch of both natural and mystical, along with the well-chosen pictures depict exactly what kind of feelings are to be found upon reading the book. It also foreshadows the poems related to the five senses… Moreover, the verses are positioned in a beautifully flowing way that makes it sweet to the eyes to read and puts a smile to your face. And the editing is done professionally as we get to see all of the usual information along with a table of content (which must always be there, in my opinion). As for the content, it is a gem for focusing your attention and emotions back on yourself, the real meaning and little joys of life that due to our hectic schedules and materialist society we often overlook, if not totally ignore. It tugs at your heart and mind, flooding you with all kinds of realization, sensations and emotions, easing you during reading time despite any trouble you might be having at the moment. It’s a joy, and rare one at that. It calms your spirit whilst making you happy (besides one who clearly grips you tight and makes you look back at your life and what’s to come), if I must say. Plus, their order (I won’t spoil you, don’t worry) has been carefully thought, I think, for it gradually follows each other in the words and topics explored, like a naturally flowing leaf in the wind, which make it even more pleasant to read as you don’t get confused all over.

On the downside, I have found there are too few the poems for such beauty held within them – I wished there was more, or for them to be of a longer size. But then again, they were meant to be simple, so their impact probably wouldn’t have been the same… Also, the vocabulary is sometimes slightly redundant and lingering, giving the impression the sentence will not end. And it barely rhymes, which I find unfortunate seeing as it’s my favourite part (besides the given emotions) in a poem… But Grell can’t really be blamed for I sometimes write one without rhymes as well to tell something in a different way, to induce different feelings and points of view.

Seriously, I think everyone should read it for we all have difficult moments, and get lost into this hazardous life, in which this Collection helps finding a bit of peace and calm, leaving you with a good feeling afterwards and for whenever you think about it. So, I strongly suggest to try it yourself! Go on, have a taste of Kimberly Grell’s Poetry Collection, you won’t be disappointed! It’s really soothing and peace-inducing. And who doesn’t like a few positive poems once in a while? Most of what we see or hear in the world is bad nowadays, so this comes up brightly and is highly refreshing and relaxing.

Thus, I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 (excellent!) due to how simply impressive it is and how few negative points there are. I recommend it greatly and always will. Enjoy!

P.S.: Her second Poetry Collection is out, so you won’t have to wait. I was thrilled when I learned it!

Fantastic! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed my book! I haven't been as active as I should be due to becoming a full time mommy. Finding the time when a little one is around can be tricky. Thank you for the detailed review as it means a great deal to me to see and hear what the positive views are and what needs to be worked on to better myself and my books. Thank you again.

I'm glad to see you on here, Kimberly :D. And you see me pleased that you're thrilled! But I don't see how I could not have enjoyed it, anyways ;)... Awwwwww, that is so sweeeeet. And of course, this is totally natural and understandable! Spending quality time with your baby is more important for now - time will settle things so you can go back to writing more fully as he/she grows up. It is my pleasure, darling! I also think reviews should be detailed, both explaining what is good and what is bad, so the author can balance everything better. :) However, you don't have much to work on, haha, but still!

You are very much welcome and thank YOU for writing this beautiful book. Thanks for commenting, by the way!
